We had the application form come this morning from the Southern Shih Tzu rescue so we have filled it out and told them of the dates we are away etc etc so will now wait to see what happens, so fingers crossed we won't have to wait too long after we return from Northern Ireland on the 22nd July before we have another little rescue to love and care for.
54 years on March 6th 2008, is that an achievement or not ??
And we were in the same class at school, but he didn't like me then because I was a prefect and used to tell him to stop running in the corridors, now I bet he wished he had kept on running.:wah: :wah:

Hi all xxxxxxxxxxxxx Hope you are all well and happy:-6
well i went to visit my mum in law at the hospice yesterday, and it is like a five star hotel!!!!! her room is lovley as are all the nurses/carers and doctors. They really do have the time to look after her every need and it makes so much difference. when we got there at about 1.30pm, she had even had a glass of sherry!! and then later they brought her a cup pf tea up, and it was on a lovely sivler tray with Denby cup and saucer, U know the little things like these sometimes makes all the difference in the world when you are sick and in hospital. The nurse that got her up that morning,, came to her and gave her a kiss and said, come on im gonna give you a nice bath and wash your hair. Later a chiropidist came in and done her feet, this chiropidist comes in a few hours a week voluntary. The hospice has quite a few people who volunteer their services or time, or even products, and they are usually people who have either been there or had relatives there. Its a wonderful place, i wish all hospitals were like that. One of the volunteers came round while we were there and left a pice of paper, he said we usually leave a little note for everyone on a wednesday. I thought he was joking and it wouuld be the dinner menu or summat lol. But it was a lovely short poem called the hand of freindship. I have tried to see if i can find it but had no luck so far, but how nice was that eh? :-4

I had a bit of a rough day yesterday, so was pleased when evening came and me and hubs went out for a few drinks and a nice meal with my brother and his wife. My steak was delicious and the pepper sauce was so yummy, but it was also nice just to get out and stop thinking for a while:wah: :wah:

Hiya Kaza, much better thanks, though I now have a really bad throat, which I hope is nothing, and doesn't lead to anything more sinister. Typical I'm fine health wise for ages, and then when I don't feel well it happens all at once!!
Ah well, how about you, having a good weekend so far?

Maybe, I just assumed it was a normal sore throat nothing more, though it really is quite bad, can hardly talk or swallow without feeling a pain. Have to wait and see though, hopefully it will be gone by the end of the weekend!
Weather is pretty miserable today huh, I hear tommorow is supposed to be really bad, several inches of rain here apparently!

Chris,, try drinking some hot water with 2 or 3 teaspoons of honey,, it really soothes a sore throat. :-4

Sure is quiet today, always seems to be lots of busy and then quiet spells every now and then. Must admit thought it would be a little noiser today being a weekend!
Yea it has been pretty quiet for a few days i think But maybe its holiday time.. i know joan who comes on this thread ,, and Gill,, are both away at the moment. And remember it is bank holiday weekend:-3

Yeah that's true, though doesn't feel like a bank holiday weekend to me as I am normally off Monday's anyway. Only noticeable thing is that today is my dad's birthday, which is something different, but just another weekend here!!
