Each part of the muffin has its own unique qualities. Each part is different yet equal.

The important thing to remember is to unfold the paper cup gently so as to keep the muffin intact.

I start with a piece of the top working my way in from the side. The fluffy bits that fall as I dig are collected for later consumption.

Each muffin bite should be savored and thanked for its offering.

Thank you muffins. Life is better knowing you are in the world.

I agree with Nomad - each muffin is unique and should be considered and reviewed individually and within their own context when making such an important decision...

For me, the top is usually the best - especially when it's slightly crunchy. An exception to the rule is when they're freshly cooked and the middle is all gooey and moist.... Omg, I HATE with a passion the word "moist" but it seemed fitting here...

FYI, Greggs' Lemon Surprise muffins are to dieeeeeeeeee for :-4

Now everyone knows it's the top that's the best, duh!... what a question... now the real question is ...whether or not, they should be refrigerated? :wah:

The top and bottom are virtually the same. It's best to just toast them, and have them with butter (same for crumpets). They're nice with a poached egg on top, too.

The top and bottom are not the same here. the top of the muffin is huge and a little hard and the bottom is like a muffin, soft . Hard to explain.

That's another mysterious thing... a "breakfast bap"? I'm sure I've never heard of one, much less had one. Perhaps it's a roll with a fried egg and a (halved?) sausage in it? I are do be a) bemused & b) bedward bound.

I never knew that there were different parts to a muffin, except the paper thing it comes in which, technically merely comes with the muffin I guess.

Anyway if it's a blueberry muffin then who pays attention to which part they are eating?
