Nougat

I'm sitting here munching on a Snickers with Almonds, which has this really creamy, fluffy nougat center. But what exactly is nougat? And why does it taste sooooo good? :-4

I'm pretty sure it's mostly vanilla and corn syrup and milk solids....something like that. Got any more? I'll check my CD-ROM in a minute...

Might be something to do with almonds in their too, or nuts at least.

Nougat is a term used to describe a variety of similar confectioneries made with sugar or honey, roasted nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios or hazelnuts are common) and sometimes chopped candied fruit. The consistency of nougat can range from chewy to hard depending on its composition.

it is very yummy though! I have a ton of chocolates now...a local church brought us a goodie basket last weekend! :-6
