Yeah, I'll be alright, I'm sitting here drinking milk and scoffing chocolate buttons - like I need an excuse, hehe!

phew thats a relief , i had a head injury about 10 years ago i was pretty much out of it for a year ,i could not walk or talk for 6 months (yes the world was a better place) but when i started walking and going outside i kept just switching off , it was just like someone turning off a light i would just wake up with loads of strangers standing round me looking down , not such a nice feeling is it :wah: :wah: you dont think i have any long term brain damage do you

Hmmm there isn't always a medical explanation for fainting, did you feel in the least slightly panicky, overwhelmed or anything like that. If you could know would you know what was going on in your unconcious mind at the time?

I used to black out a lot when I was in my late teens.

It hasn't happened for many years. I'd be more worried if this was the first time it happened to you.

Have you ruled out high blood pressure?...

Being someone who worries alot accompanied with the fact that I have never fainted before in my life naturally you can understand my concern...

I had low blood pressure, if it's the same phenomenon... where your hands and feet go tingly, your vision goes snowy then a tunnel right before you black out.

I got used to it and would just grab the nearest solid object, door frame, whatever and hold on, or sit down if there was nothing to grab.

My blood pressure is higher since pregnancy so I think that's why it stopped.

I was going to say low blood pressure like Koan says.

My middle daughter used to have a lot of fainting fits, she has low bp and is told if she feels weird to have a drink and sit down and it should pass.

Glad you are ok now though.:)

If it happened while travelling I'd just pull over sharpish. Like I say though, it's a pretty rare occurence anyway.

I had this when I was about 14yrs old - I'd wake up on the floor in a totally different room, or way down the corridor.

I went to the doctors, and they told me that it was a form of panic attack, turns out I was breathing differently causing it to happen (I didn't feel panicky at all) It coincided with stressful periods in my life though.

I dont get it any more.

Could be blood pressure though..... or possibly something to do with the oxygen levels in your blood.. do you smoke???
