web E-Mail

Hi ,I was hoping that someone could advise me on a good web e-mail..I can not use yahoo,myspace.or msn. I keep getting an error message 401 this site is blocked by administrator. So until I get this sorted out with those sites I need a new e-mail as a back-up in case outlook goes haywire again.. thanks Lene

Have you tried gmail? I have heard though that if you download Firefox you would have fewer problems with Yahoo and some of the other free mail sites. I think there is another, just cannot remember what it is.

Hi Marie,

I have thought about using g-mail..I already use firefox..I have checked everything I can on my puter and my isp as to why I am being blocked from these sites..I am going to have to use another puter so I can e-mail these sites and ask them if they have any answers..so far nobody can come up with a reason as to why..I am truely hoping the guy who was stalking my daughter isn't hacking into her e-mail again and somehow got us blocked from these sites..:-5

Gmail is brilliant, I've used it since it came out. You can store unlimited mail and it's never ever let me down. If you want an invite, PM me your addy and I'll send you one.

Hey CG, thanks ..I went on ahead and signed up earlier today...I think I may like this better than my other email accounts!:-6 Now all I have to do is figure out why I am being blocked out of the other sites....Oh well..

I hope you get it sorted, how annoying! I'd contact my ISP and see if they can let you know.

Hi CG.Thanks .I did contact my ISP. They didn't have an blocks out on us.I also contacted Nortons,to see if maybe the firewall or something was blocking the sites..Nothing there either...So now I am having my bro in-law e-mail these sites with all our accounts and see if they know what is going on..If they don't have blocks on us I really don't know what else to do..:-5

Have you tried going through a proxy? That's what I do if I'm banned to get back on.

HI CG, funny you should ask about the proxy!!:) I was trying to get through with one earlier today with no luck..Well I will just keep trying..something has to show up sooner or later.At this point I really wish I knew a puter expert!!..Thanks.Lene

Any luck yet? There are loads of proxies, try others. Don't pay though, there are a lot of free ones.

Just search for "free e-mail accounts" or similar. There are very many!

Hi CG,

I figured out what the problem was. My daughters x-boyfriend turned psycho-stalker left a router box hooked up to my puter when he moved out. He was the admin on the router and hooked up to it and blocked the three web based e-mail site from us..CRAZY ..The deputies told me there isn't anything I can do against him because I can't prove it was him! GRRRR...So I at least got all access again once I removed the router. Hopefully this psycho will just disappear...So thanks for all the advise everyone.. Lene

Gmail is the best. Never had a problem.
