100% agreement re. we NEED a sports forum!!!

Don`t wish to bore you non-soccer fans or non-British folk but I LOVE West Ham United soccer club. I lived in West Ham for 20 years from birth and have ALWAYS supported them, although they are not the richest or most successful or most famous club I think they`re great. I used to live a stone`s throw away from their ground at Upton Park (I know that because people at the ground always threw stones at my house :D !) until I moved south to go to college.

Non-football fans won`t know this and soccer fans will (hopefully) get the joke / wind-up but West Ham have a UNIQUE situation in soccer history which can never be repeated or emulated! In 1964 they won the FA CUp, a year later they won the European Cup-winners` CUp, and a year after that they won the World Cup ( :wah: okay, so that`s a bit of an exaggeration, but they supplied the goalscorers and the captain of the winning England team!)

Curiously, they were also in the FIRST EVER WEMBLEY FA CUP FINAL way back in 1923.

They then won the FA CUP again in 1975, were runners-up in the European Cup-winners Cup in 1976, and won the FA Cup again as a Second Division team in 1980.

AND Trevor Brooking is one of the most famous footballers and TV commentators of his generation.

C`mon, you Irons / Clarets / Hammers!
