Post by Imladris »

Oh, and another thing, adults are expected to be beyond this blind childish hero worship and be able to see more than one point of view without resorting to abuse and personal attack.

(Yes, I know that I have Lord of the Rings stuff everywhere but I accept that not everyone likes it as much as me - that's fine, it's just a bit of fun but if others criticise it I certainly wouldn't make comments about hoping they crash their car!)

1 - not all people who are aquitted are innocent - some just can afford the best lawyers (likewise not all who are convicted are guilty - Stefan Csisko (spl?))

2 - posting here on an open, all emcompasing forum and expecting only positive feedback is naive to say the least

3 - new members should show some respect to older members here until they have properly settled in or if they don't should expect that others will be quick to defend them

4 - who gives a flying **** if something is spelt incorrectly if the meaning is clear - I have a dyslexic step-daughter who hates having to let anyone see something she has written for fear of mickey taking (it's called compassion and curtesy not to pick up on every little typo)

Right on!It needed to be said and you did a great job. Thanks.

Michael Jackson! Any fans here?

Post by SuzyB »

The problem is Loz, if he was a regular person who had little boys sleeping with him and didn't have the finances to buy the best lawyers, would the outcome of the case been the same, I don't think so.

He is without doubt very talented, but does that talent and money give people the right to do whatever they want?

He may of won all these awards, but I couldn't sit back and think because I admired someone that what he done was acceptable. As I said before I used to like some of his earlier bits, but I couldn't and wouldn't listen to anything now, as a mother he makes me feel sick, but of course this is my opinion.
I am nobody..nobody is perfect...therefore I must be Perfect!

If I in any way shape or form believed he did any harm to a child I would hate the man of course I would but there was enough proof in the case to make me know he didnt do it I followed it intensely and what they had to go by was absolutley nothing at all.. it was pathetic actually and laughable, To the people that only went by what the papers had to say about it then that was all twisted and so far from the truth if I was one of those that just read what was written and used that to judge him by then I would have thought him guilty too but as I say I followed it in every detail and know he didnt do it... this is a link to a phone call the father of the child made which is enough proof as it is IMO

So you think it's perfectly normal and acceptable for a grown man (who has admitted this) to have little boys sleeping in his bed????????
I am nobody..nobody is perfect...therefore I must be Perfect!

besides we all know it was Elvis who changed the face of music and indeed the civilized world, not Jackson. Not by a long sight.

I myself almost always remain neutral in cases that can't show sufficient evidence in establishing whether or not someone is guilty or not, but the day he dangled that baby from a balcony is the day that man can go jump in a lake for all I care...

Even his most loyal of followers surely has an opinion on that matter.

But I respect your right to admire them...

I've been reading through this thread and things seem to be getting really out of hand!!!

I'm a Michael Jackson fan (as I've said before) and proud to be one.....but this DOES'NT mean that I in anyway agree with or condone the things that he may or may not have done. I'm a fan of the music, its as simple as that.....you can't deny that he's produced some of the best music ever, some of the most ground-breaking videos ever and is one of the best performers ever.(thats my opinion anyway)

So can we please stop squabbling and agree to disagree instead of having a slanging match with everyone who does'nt think the same way as you.....freedom of speech and all that......

OK, that'll do for me. I hope it's clear that I do not want to insult or hurt anyone's feelings at all. I respect everyone's opinions wether i agree with it or not and will defend to the end your right to express it lol

Jackson's '$2m pay-off'

September 3, 2004

Michael Jackson paid more than $2.5 million to a second boy who accused the embattled pop star of molesting him over a decade ago, it was reported today.

The 12-year-old boy made the claims in 1993, at the same time another youngster, aged 13, received $25 million after alleging sex abuse.

Father-of-three Jackson, 45, is currently battling criminal allegations that he molested a teenage cancer survivor last year.

According to NBC's Dateline programme, California authorities investigating 1993 child abuse charges against Jackson also spoke to the son of one of the pop star's employees at Neverland.

The boy accused Jackson of fondling him through his clothes, according to the report which is to be screened today.

Jackson paid the 12-year-old's family $2.8 million on condition that the settlement was never discussed publicly, according to the report.

Jim Thomas, the Santa Barbara County sheriff who investigated Jackson in 1993, said: "You had two boys we don't believe had ever met, giving us the same kinds of statements, saying the same things had happened."

Yep the father of the kid got what he wanted MONEY!!!

Proof of that is here

What parents would take any amount of money from a person that abused their child? NONE! they would make them go to court and see them locked up for the crime not just settle with some cash

I see no different in that than them paying a fraction of their worth to have people get lost and to leave them alone.

Not everyone has about 5 years of their life to sacrifice to defend allegations.

No he did not :wah: You are not going to pay someone off and testify in court also, You would do one or the other and this time he said I am doing it this way I am going to prove myself innocent and I followed that case in every detail and the evidence against him what they were trying to say was pathetic so many lies where told and found out too, The family where right con artists... and yes he was found Innocent in court but like I said mud stuck so it made no difference what so ever, Nothing he ever does is right although he has done so much for others via different ways of donations and I am talking about millions of pounds here something he doesnt have to do but he does it, He has a kind heart and does it because that is what he is like.

He does explain how these attitudes toward Him arise. I have an interview somewhere...

It's like the bigger the star, the bigger the target. You know when you're - and I'm not being a braggadocio or anything like that - but you know you're on top when they start throwing arrows at you. Even Jesus was crucified. People who bring light to the world, from Mahatma Gandhi to Martin Luther King to Jesus Christ, even myself. And my motto has been Heal the World, We are the World, Earth Song, Save Our Children, Help Our Planet. And people want to persecute me for it, but it never hurts, because the fan base becomes stronger. And the more you hit something hard, the more hardened it becomes - the stronger it becomes. And that's what's happened: I'm resilient. I have rhinoceros skin. Nothing can hurt me. Nothing.

[...]

There's a lot of jealousy there. I love all races, I love all people, but sometimes there's a devil in people, and they get jealous. Every time there's a luminary that goes beyond the heights of his field of endeavor, people tend to get jealous and try to bring him down. But they can't with me because I'm very, very, very strong. They don't know that, though.

http://mjtkop.com/home/modules/secti...rticle&artid=6

I hope that goes some way to accounting for His apparent problems.

I thought it was very strange and rather disturbing that this quote uses a capital "H" on "him" and "his" when referring to Jacko. Christians capitalise the pronoun when it refers to God and Jesus.

So, then I go to the site, and I see several banner ads there of a religious nature. They seem to be quite confused at mjtkop.com.

The best part of the site was an ad for a tee shirt site. This is how the text read (the unfortunate spelling mistake is theirs) :

"Michael Jackson Got Me, And I Liked It" He is actually very gental.

Feel free to make your own joke! :wah:

So this thread being extremely long I won’t read through it all. But being a fan of the man I thought I best make this one of my first posts here.

Well I say fan, lately I have been going off him. And on to another legend…Prince.

But I still respect everything he has done music wise, I still would wet my pants if I ever came across him, I would still do anything to meet him and see him and yeah everything.

BUT….

I don’t get the MJ fans who are so blind to all the crap MJ has done, I won’t sit back and say he is my god or he is the greatest because frankly he isn’t.

BUT…

I still loves hims lots.

"Why not just tell people I'm an alien from Mars. Tell them I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight. They'll believe anything you say, because you're a reporter. But if I, Michael Jackson, were to say, 'I'm an alien from Mars and I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight', people would say, 'Oh, man, that Michael Jackson is nuts. He's cracked up. You can't believe a damn word that comes out of his mouth.' " Michael Jackson

Same here, I think....then again I would loved to have been around for Thriller. But yeah Bad...he had the World tour and stuff and the Bad album is first one I ever listened to. I just prefer Off The Wall, much more funk and stuff.
