Sea Monkeys!

Post by RedGlitter »

I have this nostalgic retro streak. Tonight it happened in the form of Sea Monkeys. Remember these little guys? I bought a kit for myself and a kit for my friend- wait'll she sees her housewarming gift! *bwahahaha* How cool is that? Well, I got her a nightlight and hand towels too...but that doesn't top the Sea Monkeys! :wah:

I've never heard of them, i had to google it.

How sad that they wait for someone to come along and give them life. :(

I think everyone should buy a kit and free the seamonkey. :D

Lol. I like retro too! But do you know what Sea Monkeys really are? They're water fleas.

We used to buy them and put them in the fish tank as a tasty treat for the fishies.

Real Sea Monkeys have arms n'legs n'heads n'stuff and they wear clothes except when you turn their overhead light off for the night and they talk to each other.

My daughter wanted to see what they were like.

They're shrimp and they are ugly.

Yes, Sea-Monkeys, those lovable specimens of ever-hibernating brine shrimp that were sold on the back covers of comic books all over the universe.

Passion and vision. Lovable and friends. Dude. They're BRINE SHRIMP, tiny little genetically-enhanced Artemia branchiopods (generally referred to as "water fleas") that you probably bought 20 years ago, only to let the silly little creatures die in 2.3 days.

:wah: I want that Sea Monkey Bobblehead for the top of my monitor!

My kit comes with "toys" for the monkeys but I went all out and got the pink and purple castle for my friend. She's going to disown me. :D

You can buy them from Woolworths too. We had them for months but I wouldn't again as you can't clean the whole little tank and the water gets really smelly. A tip, don't leave them on a window ledge, even in this cold weather, the sun kills them. :-2 When mine died I fed them to my fish too, they loved them.

The first time I bought them for my son he was 4 he was so enthralled with the packaging, castles in the water, arms, legs little verman, well nothing happened, and after a few days, he looked in the fish bowl, looked at us and said: We bought a broken package, I think you should sue them mama!"
