Stargate SG1 - As Star Trek?
Daniel: Okay, one – that’s Star Trek, and two – it’s ridiculous.
This was a spoof. A brilliant take-off of many different sci-fi films to mark the 200th episode of Stargate.
Mitchell: Engine Room, warp speed!
This sequence is an allusion to the original Star Trek series. Mitchell is playing Captain James T. Kirk, and on his uniform, similar to the one from the original Star Trek, there's a logo that resembles the Starfleet logo.
Martin: Power getting into the flux capacitator.
The flux capacitator was the mechanism which allowed the Delorean in the Back to the Future movies to achieve time travel.
Martin: Maybe we can have Puppet O'Neill jump over a puppet shark on a one-third scale motorcycle!
This was done in Happy Days by Fonzie but on a pair of water skis instead of his motorcycle as an attempt to get viewers to watch the program again. Now when a program does a major plot twist as a way to get back viewers, it is called "jumping the shark."
In-Joke: During the wedding sequence, the organ music changes from the traditional bridal march to the Stargate SG-1 theme.
Teal’c: I assume I’m staring at you stoically.
Invisible Jack: Not buying it, eh?
Teal’c: No. You are most transparent, O’Neill.
Invisible Jack: Oh, I get it. Good one.
Teal’c: I can see right through you.
Invisible Jack: Don’t push it.
This was hilarious, an invisible Jack O’Neill!
First Carter talks to him, only to find he's left the room.
Later she's about to step out of the shower when she asks "Are you there sir?"
Long pause. Then Invisible Jack replies "No". :wah:
But the best quotes, which I can't find, is when Carter says "We have a rubber band, a paper clip and a ?? .....so build a nuclear reactor!" :wah:
And the other is when she says "You're supposed to be McGuyver.......and you're McUseless!" :wah:
