New York to ban IPOD

Post by 911 »

What is happening to the democracy in this country? You can't stop everyone from being an idiot. Why punish everyone because of one careless person?

I have an idea. . . . why not make a cattle run of sorts that people line up in and when the light turns green the gate opens and people are then allowed to cross the street. There would be a fence before and after the gate so you have no choice but to use the cattle run. Anything else would be jaywalking.

How will they be able to tell if someone is listening or just wearing the earbuds? Listening or have someone on hold on the phone?

How much more will we take before we say enough is enough?

I agree 911. Why punish everyone because one or to choose to be idiots? Isn't this a way of cleaning out teh gene pool? Natural selection? :wah: Something like that? Next up will be fines for ladies rummaging in their handbags or parents looking down to zip up their toddler's coat or soemthing else as stupid. Out here I see people crossing the street with headphones on all the time. I wouldn't do it but if they want to take the chance, let them.

Next thing you know, you won't be able to drink a coke or smoke a ciggy or tune the radio in your car anymore. There'll be a tiny retinal scan on the front windshield and it will count the times you take you eyes off the road. After so many times, your car will shut off and you won't be able to crank it again for 30 minutes! :p

Oh, sshhhh, I never said that. . . I hope Congress didn't hear that!:D

Amazing what actual important issues there are in the country that NEED legislating and yet our politicians think that we are better served by their babysitting us.

My 9 year old knows to look both ways, twice, before crossing the street. He is perfectly capable of doing so while talking to his friends or listening to his IPOD.

It must be comforting to the thousands of New Yorkers out there to know that their law enforcement officers will be busy looking for and ticketing people for how they cross the street instead of spending time looking for actual criminals.
