Yes what might they be. Seems to me anything with the word gang in it usually means trouble and death for anyone in their way or in the gang

I believe he is referrring to long ago efforts between notorious rival gangs (the bloods and the crypts) to come together for the movement of the advancement of black people. I will see if I can find a link. Anybody remember Tookie Williams?

It is simple for me when "Gangs" stop destroying every thing in their path people, neighborhoods, then and only then will I support their concept.

Sure would be nice to see them do some charity work in their neighborhoods like helping the neighborhood kids have a safe place to play and go to school. For the most part they are just law breaking thugs, and murderers.. Of course this is my opinion and no one else.

"Gangsta Salute is a timely song because there are a lot of YG's (young gangsta's), especially in NYC banging in the name of various sets without knowing the history and original intent of these gang organizations," says Supa Nova Slom. "I was personally taught by respected OG's from both organizations that the original intent and purpose of organizations such as the Bloods and Crips was economic empowerment, political empowerment and community protection¦not bangin' on each other. Me and Jada are from these streets which are now gang infested areas in NY. So, who better than the two of us to help school and unify YG's on the home front and beyond?"

dedo, do you think they are really committed to helping youth or do you think this is just their latest publicity idea?

This reminds me of the KKK's Grand Wizard David Duke appearing on all kinds of TV interview shows in the late '70s, professing that the Klan was actuallya valid cultural institution.

He was neatly coiffed, wore a nice suit, and spoke in even, measured tones with multi-syllable words.

Underneath the veneer and BS, he was still a scumbag.

Now the thugs on the other side of the spectrum are trying to blow smoke up our butts. I'll bet many fall for it, too.
