Do lurkers still exist in this day and age, or is the concept gone the way of the Dodo?

Anyway... assuming they do, and you're one, and you're game for it - just turn up[1]. You know where the meet is and we're all far more likely to be amazed at your audacity[2] than annoyed at your presumption. Take it from me - I've seen it done and it's a really great way to get onto a board, gatecrashing a meet like this before you even post. You're obliged only to make a report here afterwards so we can exchange compliments.

[1]... but note that this is at the "Toad at the Bullring" Pub in Birmingham England, NOT at the "Toad at the Bullring" Pub in Birmingham Alabama. If a bunch of you turn up at the wrong venue, post a separate meet report, that's almost as good as making it to the original!

[2]... of course I may be entirely wrong about this, I'm only speaking for myself here.

When flower power came along I stood for Human Rights, marched around for peace and freedom, had some nooky every night - we took it serious. [Fred Wedlock, "The Folker"]
Who has a spare two minutes to play in this month's FG Trivia game! ... My other OS is Slackware.

When you design tactics to maximise suffering on civilian populations and your only constraint is operational rather than moral, you've told the world who you are.

No
