Hillary Clinton joins 2008 race

Post by spot »

This'll stir some comment, perhaps.Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton has taken the first step towards running for the US presidency in 2008. Sen Clinton, 59, wife of former president Bill, announced her move on her website, saying "I'm in to win". The former First Lady has set up a presidential exploratory committee, testing the waters for a full bid.

Her announcement comes days after African-American Democratic Senator Barack Obama said he had formed an exploratory committee.

I think I could vote for a Clinton/Obama ticket.

No suprise I fully expected her to run. Barack Obama will run also no suprise there either. :)

I didn't expect it to be a surprise to anyone, just a topic of interest which might spawn some discussion here.

Has nobody thought of an Obama/Clinton ticket instead? That would have implications in its own right.

Hillary's alright, not the worst of em, but I still say vote for the Black Islamic guy, that would give everyone else in the world something to think about, vote against expectations, he can't be any worse than Bush, and it will get Big Brother off the headlines for 4 days, please help us! For Gawds sake!

Eventually people will get to grips with the fact that he's a "Black Christian guy" who never professed or adopted Islam in his life.

I think an Obama/Clinton ticket would be more successful than a Clinton/Obama one.

I do NOT care for Clinton -- either one of them, maybe all three.................

I am interested in learning more about Obama and I wish the Republicans had someone of interest ready to compete against whatever team the Dems come up with.

I believe this next Presidential election will be a very interesting one and our new President will must likely play a very pivotal role in our worldwide standing.

Yes, an Obama/Clinton ticket would be more interesting, but I do not think Hilary would go for it.

I wish Rice would run, she would get my vote.

If thats the case, he should pretend (in a non-religiously insulting way, erm somehow  ), its a great angle, and everyone loves the underdog don't they? The tabloids would have a field day!

I'd like to see a president of another ethnicity but I don't think this guy is the one. Haven't fully decided yet, it's way too soon for me. And as much as a woman president is long overdue and could benefit America, Hillary doesn't have the mettle or the necessary intelligence to pull it off, in my opinion. I won't for her just to get a woman in office. I cannot take her seriously.

Im good with this. I dont much care for her persona but I think she would make a strong leader. I have no doubt she could do the job. At any rate Im glad to see America finally coming out of the dark ages.
