Okay haven't looked up the girl on my greek wedding yet...afraid of my feelings getting hurt...I was told that I looked like the large woman in the movie "Sister Act" with Woopie Goldberg, back in 1992....my feelings are still hurt from that...of course it was "her bubbly personality" that reminded him of me!!

Question, (though this should perhaps be on the thread about the use of language and racism), why is it do you think that both Romany Gypsies and Irish Travelers are called Pikeys in Britain? They are as I am sure you are aware completely different sets of people, and I am not sure that they fraternize much with each other. In Ireland the names for Travelers (which is the one they like to be called) have been varied over the years, from Tinkers, to Itinerants, and to the most insulting one "Knackers". I am also wondering how much antipathy there are between settled people and Gypsies in England? There is a lot of it in Ireland where travellers are generally feared and despised by settled communities, (this is actually a very sensitive issue in Ireland and its one we don't talk about much because it doesn't make us look quite so nice and happy-go-lucky as people like to think).
