I phoned for some information regarding swimming times today.

I said "Hello, Is that the local swimming pool?"

They said "It depends where you're phoning from"

Almost all pools here are indoors and open all year. Too damn cold for outdoor activities

I rarely swim in a pool of any sort. Lakes are more to my liking.

FIVE BEST THINGS TO SAY IF YOU GET CAUGHT SLEEPING AT

YOUR DESK

5. "They told me at the Blood Bank this might happen."

4. "This is just a 15 minute power nap they raved

about in the time management course you sent me to."

3. "Whew! Guess I left the top off the Whiteout. You

probably got here just in time!"

2. Did you ever notice sound coming out of these

keyboards when you put your ear down real close?"

And the NUMBER ONE best thing to say if you get caught

sleeping at your desk....

1. Raise your head slowly and say, "....In Jesus'

name, Amen."

My friend actually has used #1....She was caught by a co-worker!! Quick thinkin'!!

God I havn't done a table quiz in years! They are always great fun, you should do the trivia game more often Pinks, its good practice for the pub competitions (though the US sports questions baffle all of us Europeans of course).

I'm useless at the sports questions, and current affairs, as I'm a bit of a news avoider, hehe!

Any questions we don't know the answer to, we put down Gandhi for a bit of a laugh...you always end up with something funny like 'Who's joining the Red Sox team this year?' Gandhi!:wah:

I'm not sure the other players get my odd sense of humour!:D

Have you ever done that and the answer was actually Gandhi? :wah: If so...you know where the Spooky thread is :D

I just read a news item saying nearly half of the citrus fruit are ruined out there. Sadl I love grapefruit and oranges. We are still under ice here. School has been closed all this week. Likely will be closed tomorrow and maybe Friday. We just are not ready for ice. Not nearly enough sand and salt stored.

Congratulations Okie !!!!! Do take care. I heard the President has declared Oklahoma a disaster area, because of the ice storms. Sounds frightening. Are all your family okay?

Not how I imagine Texas to be. My ex mother-in-law who lives near Mojave in California has had frozen water pipes. Not how I imagined the desert either. Freak weather seems the norm these days. Both times I went there, rain flooded the streets and I was driving around in 6" of water as the drainage system wasn't prepared for weather like that.

Seriously windy over here today. Had a gate and frame just ripped out of the wall and I've got some roof damage too. Deep joy.

Yes, snow in southern California, mental storms bashing us in Europe, fires in Australia, 2007 predicted to be the hottest year in recent history, I wonder why? Its all a bit "weathery" at the moment init? I tell ya I thought the car was going to get blown onto the other lane today, the wind was really fierce today in Ireland.

we are all fine. I just saw a news item that Los Angleles just got SNOW. First time since 1962. The kids they showed were loving it. But we will have to pay a lot more for citrus fruit this year. We are supposed to get 5-10 inches of snow tomorrow night and Saturday. Just what we need.

Oh, snow in L.A. I remember it snowing in 1969 there, when I was a freshman.

:)

Good for them!

Bad for citrus crops and my artichikes though.

Worst wind since I've been in this house. It was quite bad outside too. When I heard a plane flying over about to land at Birmingham Airport, I thought I REALLY wouldn't wanna be on that. I landed in strong crosswinds once and the plane was out of control. I thought we were going to crash. The plane landed on one wheel then started heading off the runway towards the grass. A very abrupt turn by the pilot made the plane feel like it was tipping over. Loads of screaming etc and not just by me  Me and Laura were still a bit trembly half an hour later. Luckily I had some clean underpants in my hand luggage. Too much info?...sorry :o
