It saddens me to say that I'm sure my brother-in-law is

one with the camo and the orange hat. He's of the "Wolf

took a baby off the front porch and ate it" persuasion,

and nothing I've ever been able to say will convince him

otherwise. He's not un-intelligent at all, just bull

headed and narrow minded on the subject of wolves.

For sake of family peace, I've given up on talking

about it any more.

Well, it's probably best. Difficult as hell, but for the best. No doubt he'll be waiting with his gun for the opening round....

What's the point of protecting them at all?
The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

Because wolves help keep the natural balance. And over time, were

hunted nearly to extinction by man.

Wolves kill (for the most part) older, sick, diseased prey animals and that

helps prevent overgrazing. (Help me out, Lu, you know more than I!!)

Keeping herds strong and healthy is actually BETTER for hunters.

Have you ever heard of a book called Never Cry Wolf? It's by Farley

Mowat. It might help give you some insight.

Oh, I'm so sorry!:( I should have been more clear.

I think wolves are one of the greatest species on the planet!

I've never seen one in person but I have seen film of them. They're beautiful animals and they do need to be protected.

I just meant what's the point of protecting them if as soon as they reach a required population level and have that protection removed; some politician organizes a hunt to kill them again?

:)

This is a special kind of ignorance.

SO...what can we do about this stupid plan? Who is willing to call and write letters and pass the word....contact Sean Hannity (I'm only half kidding there) and protest this??

I am.

Who else will help?? :)
