I don't smoke or drink, and I wouldn't get involved with someone that did. I think that goes without saying the same would be true for meat eaters/vegetarians.

Depends on what your morals and beliefs are and whether you want to make any of them central to the faith. My faith includes not only tolerance of others but acceptance of who they are rather than what I want them to be. Further, love between two people can either be a merging of ideals or a case for self-denial forever. There are so many things between my beloved and me that draw us together as one entity, the fact that she eats meat is of trifle concern for me. To make an issue out of it would be to deny myself the one person I have felt so close to and at one with. I do not see meat eaters as being at fault or contrary to my beliefs. For me, vegetarianism is not a religion, it is a choice.

That is a great post and makes sense. We all tolerate something with our loved ones to keep or create harmony. I reckon thats what relationships are all about.

Why would I not?

I am a meat eater. I like meat.

I've never even considered not eating something I like or want just because someone else has made other choices.
