I have a fenced front patio are, gated, which leads you to the front door.
Theres a salesman at my door - I peeked and ignored him, chose not to answer my door. I went to the kitchen window, poured myself another cup of coffee and this salesman is climbing over my front wall/iron fence .??
I ran to the front door, flew open the screen door, yelled what the hell you are doing.?
Salesman said, the gate is locked, I fly open the gate door, its not locked. So, I asked you got in this way (climbing)? ya
I'm alittle loud and stated - I call that Breaking & Entering .. The salesman goes into his sales b.s., I grab the flyer and slam my door..
As the day progressed the more I processed the event.
I'd like your opinion on this - what would do ? Then I'll tell you what I did.

I'd take a picture of it and laugh.

I'd probably report it, just because I despise salespeople who will go to that length.

I would have opened the door and let the dog keep him there until the police showed up. Also, I would have called the ocmpany that he works for and told them he was breaking into my home.
I am of the opinion that a locked fence or gate means keep out

I would take the flyer he left you with, mail it to his company and tell them next time someone from their company trespasses onto your property, you are holding them responsible.

He had no right to do that!
Report him!

The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

I would have told him what a locked gate means and told him to never come to my home again. If he was rude about it, I would call his company and politely pitch a witch about it.
