help! What do I do! As I said in my introduction I have recently met a wonderful man - the male equivalent of me. we have so much in common, think the same way, like the same things, read the same books - even our families are similar (maybewhy we are)
The huge problem is this - he's GAY!!! As gay as they come! And I think I might be falling for him!!! AAArgh!!! What do I do? I don't really think it's fair to say anything- after all, what can he do or say really?? - and I do not want to lose him as a friend. Has anyone any advice how to cope with this without him realising??

Thanks, that's a good idea - but who! I'm not exactly inundated with offers - never been good with men..........
Help!
There are all kinds of love, and affection. If you say hes a good friend, whats the problem? If you mean falling for him, in a sexual way... you know the answer to that. It isnt going to go in that direction. Youd only be tormenting yourself to dwell on the possibility of that happening. So why not simply enjoy your new friend. There are so many bonuses that come with friendship, pure affection being one.

Many gay men are wonderful friends and it's easy to fall in love with them! BUT--you have to realize that what you're feeling isn't going to be what HE is feeling!
My "brother" is gay...I love him tremendously, and, were he not gay, I'd probably be trying to seduce him myself! :wah: Instead...I adopted him and he's "family," and it's the best and only relationship we can have. (Probably more satisfying, ultimately--certainly less stressful!)
Perhaps there are TWO things going on...and the first is that you'd like a love interest?
Best of luck--having a wonderful friend is SUCH a gift! Cherish what you've got together and look elsewhere for the rest. I'm with Hamster--tell him how you feel and ask for his help in finding the perfect "straight" man!

My candle's burning at both ends, it will not last the night. But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--It gives a lovely light!--Edna St. Vincent Millay

Thanks for all your replies - you're all right. I need to just enjoy being his friend and it certainly is less stressful than a full on relationship! i guess I'll just carry on and see who turns up - at least i know now tha there are times that you can really, really connect with someone - and it's given me hope that maybe that can happen sometime!

You've got plenty of good advice here to choose from. Good luck.

Maybe your problem is that you are falling for him because he is SAFE. Meaning that you know that he is not going to be interested. Perhaps, you should not be looking for someone just like you, but someone who can complement you. No, I dont mean things like "you look great in those jeans, etc..."
But someone who can give to you the thigs that you are not. Life is wonderful.
A rubber band is only usefull when it is stretched. Maybe you should get OUT of your comfort zone and try to be interested in those that are different thatn yourself.
No, I am not saying that you should look for a polar opposite. Nothing like a Beetoven - Souisee and the banshees type match.

You are so right - fellow librans should know each other hey?? Yes maybe it is becasue I can concentrate on him and not on me - I get so self conscious normally. Thanks!
