Who Should Make The First Move In A Relationship?
In my part of the world, the man makes the first move in any relationship, but we live in a fast changing world where nothing is impossible. As a man I often find myself asking why we (the men) should be left with the difficult task of making the first move. Isn't the world civilized enough for the ladies to start asking the guys out?. Or is it peculiar to my part of the world?
A formula for tact: "Be brief politely, be aggressive smilingly, be emphatic pleasantly, be positive diplomatically, be right graciously".

I made the first move on my hubby 9 years ago. It worked out for me.

I've made the first move before, and its worked out. I sure hated rejection though.
But I guess everyone does.
I didn't make the first move with my husband, he did. But he's much more aggressive (personality wise) than I am. The men I made the first move with were a lot more submissive.

I'm thinking about this one...Mine made the first move, as far as asking me out, etc. But he doesn't do it in a vacuum, if that makes any sense. Surely I've given him a safe environment to ask me; I've encouraged him, and then taken the lead myself here and there.
Do men sense when the woman wants them to ask? Just curious.

Who Should Make The First Move In A Relationship?
I think the different generations look at the question from their perspective. Since I am a little older, I find it easier for the man to make the first move. The younger women I know have no problems initiating a relationship, I think that is great for them!

Welcome to the 21st century! I think if someone is interested, make it known!! It shouldn't matter if you're a guy or a girl. What's the worst that could happen? You get turned down. Big deal. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It's early, I couldn't come up with a better cliche, sorry! :yh_bigsmi

Depends if she is armed or not.
There certain females who carry weapons and handcuffs and would not hesitate to use them if the target does not respond in the correct manner.

In these days of equality the old truism of let them chase you until you catch them holds true for both sexes. What is the first move in a relationship? A look? A movement? A word? Who makes the first move doesn't matter when it works out.

And there are some men also, who deserved to be cuffed, otherwise they will not respond in the correct manner.

you know what I think,
if your interested you ought to persue it. The other party can only say no. But if you never try you will never know. And as for the holding the door etc yes do so, but then again is it chivilray or just common courtesy? I love a chivilrous man (sorry on spelling there). To me it shows grand respect. however if I am dashing up to a door and beat a male by a mere step I have no trouble opening it jetting through and holding it for him to follow, shows I appreciate his effort but am capable of opening it myself and I hope I don't offend the males I to that to, I just figure if I am getting there first the least I can do is get in and hold the darn door, not either stand and wait for him, or just rudely go through. It all boils down to courtesy and respect.
