A minor thread, prompted by a BBC story today. Brian Clough was one of those people who warmed the entire nation.The Brian Clough Statue Fund has beaten its £60,000 target. The popular manager was in charge of two European Cup winning sides at Nottingham Forest and led Derby County to a Division One championship.

Clough statue fund beats target
I recently drove along the Brian Clough Way between Nottingham & Derby. It struck me as a very fitting tribute to a legend who brought great success to both "unfashionable" cities. I'm not surprised the fund beat the target. It speaks volumes about the man who should have managed England.
