Me too! Unless they have something concrete on him, like dna, then I think they have the wrong guy. Most of the girls werent sexually assaulted. Maybe they were killed because he couldnt get it up? Something just smells 'hinky' about this one.

Creep for sure, he could be the killer he may have dual personalitites they just need to question him till #2 shows up. There could be 2 people involved in this.

He is way to familiar with the girls not to know what happened and if not him he should be able to tell who might have done it. My gut says he maybe the one and is just a flippin psycho.

Given that he's known to several of the working girls in the area and several of them have said it cannot be him - he wouldn't be capable of murder, it sounds as though you might well be right.

Tom Stephens claims to have been acquainted, as I understand it, with two of the victims. I assume that each had acquaintances and that some would be common to both. It seems quite possible that he did in fact know them.

Your John Karr didn't, as far as I know, know the person he claimed to kill at all. Tom Stephens hasn't suggested to anyone that he's a murderer. So why does "this guy" remind you of John Karr? Where are the similarities?

I don't see that he's displayed any undue "attention-seeking demeanor" or that it's "apparent" that he has. He was approached by reporters and he told them what he knew, he's not revelled in notorious self-publicity.

The press eats people alive, especially people with no prior exposure to their ways. Blackening Tom Stephens by comparing his behaviour with that of John Karr is underhand and shoddy, given that there's no aspect of the one which corresponds with that of the other. Tom Stephens hasn't suggested to anyone that he's a murderer. Neither has he sought out publicity.

He's going to have enough of a rough time when he's released as it is, without hobbyists unloading unfounded prejudicial speculation on his shoulders.

It comes with the terratory - and not just over the net.

Anyone you talk to, on-line or in real life, could be a psyco. Getting to know them over a period of time is the only defense and even that is no certanty.

The up-side is that they are few and far between.

I know you have been in law enforcement for a long time, and would certainly out-qualify me in knowing about crime, so I ask with all sincerity, doesn't that contradict the theory that alot of deranged sociopathic killers have originated from quiet unpredictable lifestyles?

I think that in such instances, basic human instinct is not given the credit it deserves...It's easy to assume someone is not crazy, but you can't help but to be ever so cautious when it comes to someone you feel is just plain weird coming from a feeling you have deep down inside that you just cannot deny. At least that's the way I am...I am a very keen person...

Being arrested or being released counts neither way. Being charged is the only indication that the police think they have their man. Being convicted is the only test of whether they're right or not, that's the difference between innocent or guilty.

No more girls have been killed as of yet. I think they must have something concrete like dna or they wouldnt have charged him. This is too high profile of a case. The one girl was 3 months pregnant. I think they should have charged him with 6 murders instead of 5.
