Spent Friday and Saturday with my brother and his wife who live about 2 hours drive away near Stansted Airport.

He is 69 now and I love him dearly. I nornally go to visit in the summer, but there was so much going on this year that I didn't get a chance ....

Anyway...on Friday night we went to Jamie Olivers parents pub and had a really nice meal (expensive though).

Yesterday we went to Cambridge shopping....great atmosphere with small choirs, brass bands and other instrumental groups dotted round the city playing carols.

We were going to go to into King College Chapel - famous for it's choir - but we were running a bit late. My SIL bought a CD instead...

i get up in the morning start the cappachino thing to heat up the milk fot the Chai.

I pour two cups cuz i don't want to get up and get a refill. i'm retired and don't have to work any harder than i have to.

So i get the paper, trip over the cat(like always), and get my Chai. pretty good stuff.

sit down on the couch and start looking over the parer. Moses, big black 16lb cat, comes in and is playing "hockey" with something. it's a giant Cricket. that has seen better days. moses is have a blast. batting the thing all over the floors.

i think, hey the wife can get it and throw it away. Im reading and comfy.

that damn cat gets so riled up he starts picking it up and throwing it around.

Giant cricket goes flying in the air and PLUNK right in my 2nd cup of Chai.

Aaaaahh!! i get up and throw it out the back door. wash out the cup with bleach and still can't drink any tea. start to gag.

Wife comes down pours a cup (in the cricket mug) takes a drink and asks if i had any. it tastes different today.

I ran to the living choking and laughing. i finall ycalmed down to tell her what happened and she gave that look. Took a big gulp and said yum, protein.

I lost it. i didn't know if i should laugh or puke. i haven't had a cup all day. i might have one tomorrow, i don't know yet.
next time have your cat do it with a cockroach, nothing like cricket or cockroach flavored Chai, good to the last drop.

that's as good of a laugh as everyone in our foursome got when a bug flew into one of our buddies ear - had to lay him down and get it out with a tee.

come on keep posting, this goes right along with strange bugs in tea (why do all the posts seem to stop when i come on, or is it just unjustifiable paranoia)? think i'll go drink some potted tea and not worry about it. spiritual and medicinal, mmmm mmmm good.

Forget Peter Piper, he's pickled.....we should all be campaigning to stop Woodchucks chucking wood. ...there are some big health and safety implications !

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck

if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

He would chuck, he would, as much as he could,

and chuck as much wood as a woodchuck would

if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

OK...how about a 'Save the two toed toad' campaign ?

A tree toad loved a she-toad

Who lived up in a tree.

He was a two-toed tree toad

But a three-toed toad was she.

The two-toed tree toad tried to win

The three-toed she-toad's heart,

For the two-toed tree toad loved the ground

That the three-toed tree toad trod.

But the two-toed tree toad tried in vain.

He couldn't please her whim.

From her tree toad bower

With her three-toed power

The she-toad vetoed him.

If you're not a part of the woodchuck solution Marie, you're a part of the woodchuck problem.

I'm all but ready, lets say I've got it all under control.......... nearly! ;)

Yep, a week today the living room floor will be covered in ripped wrapping paper and cardboard, I'll be armed with scissors and cursing the toy manufacturers for using so many wire ties to keep toys in their boxes

Then I'll be cursing the fact I thought it would be a good idea to buy my son a huge lego lorry, as I spend hours laying on the floor building it with him, argueing about which bit goes where! :D
