Babyrider setback

Post by Erinna1112 »

I have some troubling news to relate. Babyrider is back in the hospital.

She called me this morning, thinking that I had been at her apartment last night (I hadn't been). She thought she had been wandering around, tripping over things. She hadn't been; there aren't any bruises on her knees where she said she landed. She sounded rather odd, and was apparently acting oddly enough when Dad was there this afternoon that he called her doctor. The doctor said to bring her to the hospital, where she was admitted. They want to do some evaluations. We don't yet know what's wrong, or how long she will be there. It could be her medication, or something else could be wrong.

Need beams again, folks....I know we can count on all of you for support. :-4

As soon as I know anything, I'll update here. Thanks, everyone.

We hope its a adjustment with the medication - or a medication that can stablilize the problem.

I'm feeling gutted at the news about Babyrider, Erinna, so goodness knows how it must feel for you and the family.

But, and it's a huge BUT, we just have to remember what a fighter BR is...look at how she came through the past few months. She will do the same this time, with her own strength, the strength, love and support of her family, and the love of all the members of Forum Garden.

Babyrider is an incredible lady :-6

Hiya, have been getting caught up in all the other unpleasantness and should have taken the time to just say that I hope that BR gets better, she has been through such a tough time, and when people on FG get into real trouble I am often at a loss to know what to say, as its easy to be clever when everything is lighthearted, but a lot harder when things that are really serious such as BR's accident happen. Get better soon BR. :)

Update here...

The doctors think it is something drug-related, as opposed to something coming adrift inside where the surgeries were done. This is good news - it's either some kind of reaction to one of the drugs (she did recently start a new one, she told me) or something not being taken at the right times. Since it's related to the meds, they think, and not some new manifestation of the injuries, that's the good part.

They'll keep her a couple more days, to regulate what's going on. The psychiatrists are evaluating. She's had CT scans and MRIs (I think) and ultrasounds and all sorts of diagnostics.

She did have bruising on her knees, so she might not have been imagining that part of it.

Thanks for all the love and the support, everyone. It really does help. You may not think that just typing a message on your computer screen does anything, but I'm here to tell you it ain't so. It makes a difference. So, thanks. :-4 :-4 :-4 :-4

I'm very glad I did come back in here. This is what FG is about. Erinna, thank you for the good news. I'd hoped it might be that. Very good to have everything fully checked though. It must have been very frightening for Criss and for all of you. I'm sending lots of loving thoughts.

I hope they really take their time and make sure.

It's tempting to want to rush her home and I'm sure BR wants out of there as soon as possible but it's important to be thorough. Misdiagnosis is not going to be helpful. Whatever the problem is I hope they nail it correctly and her recovery continues back on track.

At the moment, I know something about recovering from physical trauma. It's very hard on the mind, and that, factored in with drug reactions, etc, can make it easy to become depressed. I can only imagine how difficult it is for Criss to stay "upbeat" with all that's going on physically (and mentally.)

She's tough...she'll get back!
