How do you know he's a mod Snooze

I don't see anything around his name or anywhere

I'm sure you must be mistaken, Snooze. Tombstone has always been fair and reasonable, and I can't see him making an appointment like that, which would alienate so many long term members.

He is only moderator in one small spot....Westcliff debating or something and Compulsive Liars is in there. But he can't do anything outside of that small area of three headings.

I looked in the first page, all the forums listed.

Weber is correct, it is in that one category that spot is listed as a moderator.

Snooze

if you go offline, you simply won't know what is going on. What's the point in that? If Spot is abusing the system, we need to pin it down.

and how do you know it was Spot who deleted your post?

There are 29 members of Tombstone's group but not all of those joined the Troll Patrol.

Simple test - Tombstone can see exactly who's deleted what and he's said, quite categorically, that anyone abusing the priviledge will be banned immediately.

If you've reported it and it was Spot then that will be an end to the matter.

It would be my guess that a troll patrol member cannot delete anybody's post at this stage of the game. To my knowledge that power has not been given out. When Tombstone gives out that power, it will pass through his Group first. OMG don't I just make good sense W:-6

I was not around when people were asked to hold their hands up so I'm not a member but I assume so given the prior discussion.

Spot is the moderator for his special forum: Westcliff Rules Debating Area

This is a highly moderated forum area and Spot can and should moderate the posts to meet the Westcliff Rules requirements.

Spot does not have the ability to delete posts anywhere else.

Yes, Clancy, I'm aware of that. And also find it extremely likely that the whole thread was conceived to entrap people into doing exactly what was done.

I second that, Floppy. Active threads are currently all listed together under Today's Posts by thread title first. Who reads the last column? Areas with private rules should display some kind of warning, together with documentation concerning the rules applying.

Some are welcome others arent. Its like Tombstones trying to split his own forum in half.

Stupid idea.

I thought the idea was to give some people the rights to delete the troll and spam threads not to be moderators. I was happy with TS being the only moderator.

Very nice. Thanks for your kind words. I assume your private emails and PM's don't apply to "dark gossip caves" or "clandestine groups"?

I assume FG should have NO volunteers to delete spam? I assume that you should not be allowed to create a group and discuss items of interest in an environment where YOU can moderate the trolls or disinterested participants?
