If I have to swerve into/over a dog to avoid hitting a kid in the street on my way to work tomorrow I hope it's one of yours and I also hope that if you are ever unfortunate enough to be trapped under the rubble of a burning building that the S&R dog walks right on by you.
Are you sober enough yet to realize what an ass you were to post this?

Good grief! People are still ragging RedGlitter over her personally held beliefs? If she feels an animal life is as important as a human one--so what? It IS her belief, after all!

I'm amazed to see that Cardslam's still spewing insults, too. Sheesh...what's the matter? Are things dull over at R&R?

I expected you to be here Snooze. I am not surprised.

Please look over some of your own posts for their rudeness and sullying remarks before you call my manner belligerent. Thanks.

Cards- is that dick back here again? Notice how he didn't resurface until this thread came back to life? I can't be bothered with trash and you Cards, are trash.

I just have no more energy to devote to jerks today.

There have been several reports this year about forces having to import dogs of sufficient quality. This, for example, from the New York Daily News in August:The dogs of war are in short supply. Confronted with mounting counterterrorism demands after 9/11, the MTA and police departments across the nation can no longer find enough American-born dogs for specialized K-9 units, the Daily News has learned.

To fill the void, the agencies are increasingly recruiting pooches from overseas. "A good-quality working dog with the right traits is hard to find," MTA Sgt. John Kerwick, who heads the agency's K-9 unit, told The News.

About half of the 35 bomb-detecting dogs in the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's K-9 unit were born on the other side of the Atlantic, authorities said. The Port Authority Police Department's canine contingent - one of the largest in the nation - is now almost entirely comprised of foreign-born dogs, Port Authority Sgt. Robert Schmidt said.

Duke was born in 2001 in Slovakia, a landlocked republic in central Europe, and joined the MTA a year later. The dog is trained in explosives detection, tracking, criminal apprehension and bag searches. Another German-born shepherd, Renie, was safeguarding the temporary PATH station at Ground Zero last Wednesday for the Port Authority.

Connecticut Canine, which provides dogs to law enforcement agencies and private security outfits, searches only in Europe for qualified dogs. Germany, Hungary, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Holland and France are all hot spots. In my home town the handlers even have to retrain:Police dog handlers are being forced to learn Dutch after communication problems with new recruits.

A shortage of dogs in the UK meant the Avon and Somerset force had to import animals from Holland. But the dogs are not bilingual and only respond to commands in Dutch.

Rather than send the dogs back, officers have decided to take a crash course in basic Dutch commands such as sit, good boy, heel and bark. The sound of our local police barking out commands as though they'd just come off the set of The Great Escape will doubtless puzzle onlookers, but that's life.

Snooze, if you really had me on ignore *again* you wouldn't be continually making your snide remarks. You have a problem with me? Then PM Me. Don't want to do that? Then leave me the hell alone. Go find another victim.

Because I don't care. I see this is going to be another situation where everyone else is going to put in their two cents. So why didn't YOU Pm me, DG instead of commenting here? "Just curious, you know."

Considering she holds the life of a dog equal to that of a human being, you would think the dog would be more appreciative and actually make more of an effort to save her.
