Are you suggesting a new way of forum life where, despite the fact that all posts are available for review, a person can accuse others of crimes and not be able to produce examples?

It's not like we need to rely on memory or eyewitnesses.

If he could write an essay on how wrongly he'd been treated he could surely produce a link to the crime. Robes are not required when there simply isn't a case.

No wonder this thread struggles. You have to follow it, Accountable.

The OP was due to a hijacking of the original thread by one presumably lunatic member who claims there is no such thing as HIV. The only possible way to address the original thread was to remove it to a new location.

Did someone actually claim there is no such thing as HIV?

Because if that is true, the word 'lunatic' may have been a most appropriate choice of words :-6

It's a she. I made the mistake of checking out her homepage.

But the reason we are here now in this thread is so that we don't need to discuss her and can focus on the other ideas expressed in the original.

koan;466366 wrote: MEMBERS OF ONLINE FORUM FIND SOLUTION TO CRIME

Shocking the sociological world, a small group from an online forum have managed to find the solution to both crime and the gay problem. Realizing that sex in jail helps spread AIDS through this undesirable community, they stumbled upon the solution that denying the prisoners condoms would help kill off the scourge of society. Though some might think the method of elimination cruel and unusual, aside from taking a potentially long time, they have thought it through carefully and realize that the longer it takes the criminals to die the larger the number of other undesirable people that will be killed along with them. It's a win-win scenario.

Realizing that some might find the solution unpalatable, Shweet replies that it is a good way to "thin the heard [sic] a little bit." When pointed out that this method might end up victimizing innocent people once the prisoners are released he had the incredibly valid point that "Perhaps you don't go too [sic] prison in the first place." It is this type of hard line reasoning that makes this solution so brilliant. Criminologists are dumbstruck that they didn't think of it themselves. "I'm with you on this one, Shweet" says Accountable, quick to realize the brilliance of the solution. The resident police official helpfully clarified that "sexual activity is an offense" and worried that "handing out condoms would appear to condone it". Flying in the face of prevention theory, this clever group has considered every aspect and the prison staff are quite excited. As to the men that are forcibly raped inside the jails, 911 offers "Oh, well..."

Yes. To restore the original discussion of a side tracked thread. Anyone who followed the link to the original should have been able to determine that quite clearly, I agree.

I most certainly mean to challenge the opinions of those quoted. That is part of the function of forums. Two people. Two ideas. Discuss.

Unfortunately that is proving impossible. Why someone would post something then get upset when their post is pointed out....please, tell me. I've failed to understand why you would find your own ideas offensive.

Not the ideas, just the disrespect and disdain you showed. I know it's hard for you to understand pride and dignity, being such foreign concepts, so just move on.
