I just heard someone say that outside London, that Manchester is the second largest city in the UK. I always thought it was Birmingham!?

Manchesters population is just under 400,000 while Birminghams is just under 1,000,000.

Manchester as the second city seems to be an idea pushed by Manchester City Council.

Historically, it's always been Birmingham, but I suppose it depends what their claim is based on

Hard to believe but there are several flocks of geese here inside the city limits that fly across town daily. I guess from fields or lakes to other spots. I saw some two days ago.

They had a really cute birthday cake logo for their 8th birthday a while ago.

I googled it to see if I could find a pic for you and found their museum library instead!

Their graphics are really clever - have a look:

I'm feeling really sorry for myself, i've had a reaction to the meds that the Dr has put me on, i've come up in hives all over me and it feels as though i've got ants crawling all over my body!! Dr has faxed letter to surgeon it isn't looking to great, they're trying to get a physio out to get me moving. Only good thing is i've lost my appetite. :-1 :-1 :-1

I hated admin periods at college, they were so infurating! I would have to hang around for 2 hours sometimes, just to turn up for 5 minutes, then to be told I could leave. No wonder our class was usually half empty with awful time management like this!! :-5
