bad day ?

Post by Carl44 »

i have just met a woman in the pub that i have been a friend with for a few years and we were having a chat about spurs win in europe last night , she said i would like to see a spurs game before i go , to be honest i had noticed about a 6 months ago she had her head shaved , so i said your not moving are you she said no my cancer has come back and its on my spine now she has about a year to live

she gave me a hug and i said no ... she said i'm gonna hang on as long as i can they might be able to find a new drug that can slow it down so i can see my kids grow up

and i thought i was having a bad day

now any one out there you still think your having a bad day :(

She sounds like a fighter though, and that will get her a long way.

You are so good, jimbo and Suzy.

Oh, we do not know why bad things like this happen. But if you do your best to help, that is most definitely a good thing.

Jimbo, I think it's great of you and Suzy to do that. :-4

You may be amazed at how often illness, especially cancer and impending death, makes people scatter away like cockroaches. Good on you guys for not being that way!!!

I lost my mom to cancer this past June. A lot of her friends disappeared as they didn't know how to handle it or what to say. Trying to hang onto a sense of normalcy is what my mom wanted. Cancer is a terrible insidious disease that steals loved ones like a thief in the night. I am going to be thinking of your friend the rest of the day. I don't know why bad things like this happen. I just have to believe it's part of The Plan that I cannot comprehend.

I am so sorry. Good grief. Why can't people get a break??? All you can do is be there for when they need you. And of course I and all your friends here will be there for you when you need us. I am so sorry, guys. :-1

the first thoughts on my mind when i opened my eyes this morning were the to poor people dying i felt terrible sadness consume me sue was pushing out the the zzzzzz's like a tranqualized gazelle and i was alone with my thoughts

my first thought was about the lady spurs supporter i made up my mind as soon as its a social hour my friend can get me a ticket now and then her fella and i have it planned we will take her to spurs she can watch the game i wont be able to get tickets for all of us we can sit in a nearby pub and have a chat i thought to myself how very lucky we met and i can help her

then my thoughts went to paddy his son laying in a hospice waiting to die ,paddy had all his lymph nodes ? removed got bone cancer does not know how long he will live , the only thing he likes to watch is the U F C ultimate fighting championship , he used to do boxing as a younger man ,he is only 34 now , he said before he died he would like to go to a mixed martial arts event , lucky i know a few of the fighters i can help him and i will get the tickets and will take him there , he has also always wanted to learn how to do he has been wanting to for years , my friend gatesy and i run a small club doing exactly that we are the only people i know of that are insured and have our own hall to use in this church , for gatsey is very religious

both these people are very ill and have been some how steered into my life the only person that could do these little things for them does any one else think this strange at all ...... i do :-3

Hi Jimbo,

I was halfway through my reply when it vanished.

I'll try to keep it succinct this time. That you and Suzy should be brought into these people's lives at this particular time does not strike me odd or weird in the slightest. I don't know what your private beliefs are and I don't want to step on any toes here....but...in my beliefs, there are no accidents or coincidences. There is a reason for all of us to be here. We won't always know what the reason is or the how and why things happen as they do. Especially when things seem cruel and wrong and unfair like they do now. But maybe it's not for us to know why things happen as they do. I don't know, Jimbo. I'm trying to tell you what I think without preaching or fully explaining myself and I am failing miserably. :o

No offense if you are not too religious or spiritual, but there's a saying that goes something like "Trust in God that you are right where you are supposed to be." I think without a doubt that you and Suzy are right where you are supposed to be. You are in a position to help your friends and show compassion and kindness. I think it's more than just being able to get Spurs tickets. That's just the surface. I think you and Suzy are meant to play a bigger part in these people's lives just by being there for them. It's going to help your friends and it's going to change you to a degree and make you both even better human beings.

I think you two are great. :-4
