When I checked my bank balance 'online' last night, the first state pension payment had gone into the bank........

I don't mind being 60...it's only a number, but now I really feel like a 'Pensioner'...:-1

Screw that BEZ just means you can have more play time, you earned it. :-4 Boy we can't retire here until 65 and that doesn't give you much to live on I know I will have to work 2 or 3 days a week after I retire. Oh you can retire at 60 if your rich or only want 600 dollars a month to live on. :(

I'm still working part time Carla and I could have gone on full time if I wanted, but I thought "sod it"..get out of the rat race....

WE have a small (very small) state pension here and I've paid into a private pension for 20 + years .

If it's hard to manage financially, then I'll find another job, but I'm just enjoying a bit of extra freedom at the moment.

Gosh....over 2 years since i started this thread. I'm 'fully retired' now and loving it. Left work last September as the company was down sizing anyway. The winter has had it's difficulties and I'm looking forward to the spring/summer....sunshine and warmth. :-6:-6

Have been blessed with 2 more grandchildren since I started this thread and another one due in June. Nothing like 'littlees' to give you joy.

It's wonderful to hear you're enjoying it so much. The weather might even warm up and let you do it outdoors more often if you're lucky. *hug*

I've found that the longer I'm retired, the more comfortable I become with the free time. At first I felt guilty at not working and having days when I didn't do much but I'm over that now. Winter has been harder because of the weather and short days. I've also got divorced after 42 years of marriage so had to adjust to being totally independent and 'on my own'.

Money, or 'lack of' is my biggest worry as I have a small mortgage etc but I keep a strict check on spending and so far so good. There are a few cutbacks I could make like getting rid of the car, dental insurance, Top Up TV, etc.

Do you know what you're anxious about ? maybe if you can identify the negative bits it would help.

I'm lucky having loads of grandchildren living locally.......nothing like kids to put life in perspective and give you a big cuddle to cheer you up.:-6

SUGAR ....tut , tut.....yesterday I bought the little ones who live locally some strawberrys. ....sometimes I buy grapes. I did buy some organic Ginger Bread men though :wah:

Everything else you said is right though !

The teenage girls are taken out for shopping and a coffee / lunch....the 12 yr old boys just like beating me at playstation games......I'm getting better though.
