Would The World Had Been Any Different?

Post by polycarp »

We live in a world where men constitute the majority in politics, business, science and other areas of human power and influence. The result is a world bedevilled by terrorism, wars, femine, disease, poverty, rich/poor dichotomy, racism etc. I was thinking, since the men have seemingly failed, would the world had been any different, if more women were in control than men, would it had been better, worse or not any different from what is obtainable today?.

Opinions please!

Men have always been first in line for battle? i can only answer by instinct and living experiences, stories from previous generations. I do not think at all the men failed, people just don't like the outcomes. Women are moving up and having more opportunity with politics & business. Change takes time. Too many people in the world, too many directions and every-one has an opinion? Pick from hat, what is the right way of the world today? Don't try to figure it out?

Sweat it out, our ancestors did. Move on, god is not returning anytime soon. if he is he will not be looking for me, thats for sure.

Hello Paula, you've cleverly put your answer answer that I find it hard to know where you stand, but I'll take you for your very first sentence. Cheers!

That is one of those "oh Lord help you" questions there. There is no right or wrong answer or thought, but I did make my husband laugh the other day with a similar tangent:

We were out running around and I desperately needed a pad or tampon. We went to like fifteen quick stops and still found NOT a single sanitary aid product. I told the hubby that men did this to keep women busy because if we weren't out looking for pads or tampons we would have much more time to throw toward ruling the world :D

It does make you think though doesn't it :-3

In the days when the Sabertooth Tigers were trying to steal the young from the caves, it was important for the men to be in the lead.

But now that wars are fought with smart weapons, I think it would be fine to have female leaders.

One thing, though. Everyone always assumes that the men are the violent aggressors, and that is very true to a certain extent, I can tell you from experience, though...the girl fights at school are BY FAR the most vicious.

Well, its hard to think about. But I dont think it would really be any different as far as there being major problems. Women that I know fight more often then my guy friends. I think there would be the same amount or more problems, maybe of slightly different things.

Cool Topic and cool replies, I don't know that the rules would have been better but likely different,

-GWB just you wait until your father comes home.

-Bill Clinton, if you keep doing that your face will freeze in that position

-Ronny Regan, Please try and pay attention, don't you ever listen, Sheesh that boy always seems to be off in a day dream

Back in the cave era, I think men took over the rules cause they had the strength to bash the ner-do-well into submission as the women were not that strong back then and power meant strength. Where as now days power is more brains oriented so women can contribute

As for girl fights Holly Hannah run fast run far. Them chicks are evil ones at times. If our young girls and women of today are any indication of power we are all slipping back into the cave era as they seem to be digressing to the outpower thy enemy code.

You are from Africa and I am from New England. There is a big difference here. We have cold winters and work through ice & snow. Our reputation is about endurance, to take what is given and work with it. Men and women in my life are treated equal. Either can do most jobs. Without unity, there is no company.

Our winter months are composed of re-building plants, reconditioning equipment, restructuring financials, do some cord wood in between & then the sun shines, back to work now.

In the days before, men fought and the women kept them going. Today it does not matter if you are a man or woman, both can do the same. :yh_smiley

I am sure in your culture you all work hard also.

Present Job Openings: Looking for a Female Welder/experienced in cutting and fabrication. Must have own tools.

Also: Male Receptionist, to answer calls and take messages. Some data entry. Must be polite and patient to customer needs.

Here's an irony for you: I don't think it would have made a difference if the leaders were male or female. I think humankind is prone to violence to a degree. However, I do not believe women running the world is the answer. Can you imagine a female with her finger on the button during PMS??? Geez, someone looks at her funny and she blows us all to kingdom come!!! (That's how I get during that time of the month anyway...) :yh_rotfl

Yep! I said it!!!

OMG!!! Tell me honestly, does this country make my butt look fat? Boy if another country answers that one, it's world war 25. And did you see the color of those uniforms in that country. Poor dears, that is so last summer. And did you see the way that slut in country so-and-so looked at my man, I'll teach her a thing or two. (insert loud explosion here) My baby's daddy moved to Equador, thinks he can skate out and not pay his child support. Call the Marines!! And I believe sanctions are in order for America, they are all way too fat. It's for their own good you know. On the plus side, the guys would have more time for other things, like tupperware parties and candle parties, or sex toy parties....3 day sex toy parties. Every month. Let them have it I say, and then they can open my door for me!! Actually, women are like cats. They already rule the world, men just don't know it yet.

I almost fixed it for you, but figured with your sense of humor, you might have had a reason for spelling it that way.

I did correct a different spelling error though, can I pick on you for that one??? :yh_bigsmi

The women in power that I have dealt with are far more vicious than men...and I can't flirt with them to cool them off. Well, some of them I can.

When women get together in large groups I run. Women interspersed with men and the power equally divided may be the best way to bring out the best of both genders.

England under Victoria & Thatcher? Russia under Catherine? History would suggest that there is not much difference. There would be considerable difference if women were 85% of the earths population howver.

The reason why she has trouble remembering who Tim is is because she doesn't go to the donut shop any more and is slowly forgetting about that venerable Tim Horton's Donut Shop. (soon coming to everywhere in America) She's Canadian through and through. Food served with donuts for dessert.

Until quite recently women would not have been able to rule the world. It took courageous and outspoken women to raise the awareness of the multitudes of others who were opressed. Women do a far superior more superior job than men in most arenas. It will always ,however continue to be a mans world. The reason for this is because men stand together and women fight each other. The number of men and women combined who posess the characteristics needed to rule would fill the bottom of a small pool. This small group of people pocess brains combined with compassion integrity and selflissness. The ability to forsee long term outcomes, and a complete disinterest in personal power or material gain. If this group were ever joined together.. we would view them as androgenous people. Their altruistic characters would shine like diamond on a black sky, and our minds would be boggled by the feats they would accomplish.

England has always been more prosperous under Queens. Not to mention the great Margaret Thatcher! Actually women do very well when it comes to ruling nations. Catherine the Great, Cleopatra etc... The nations they ruled, did well indeed! Who knows.....maybe the world would be more stable.

The dreams of great men to do great things for their fellow men would be replaced by the dreams of great women doing great things for their fellow women. The men usually wind up corrupted and the women would wind up the same way. It is about power not fantasy.
