The guy that owns the Chip shop by us is from Cyprus. He's quite an affable chap. He's only got one eye and me and Laura call him "Columbo".

I once worked on a construction job with a black man whose eyes never opened all the way. We called him Peepsight. I thought he had huge muscles until one day it got hot and he started removing shirts. He had on ten shirts. Heeeee.

Yeah Sunny104,

I've had that craving for something for over fifty years and still can't make out what it is I want?

As for photo graphs of those far off days we are down by the head with hundreds of both photos (B&W Mainly) and coloured slides.

I have two scanners - by accident - my old printer gave up the ghost just after it's guarantee date (Doesn't everything? Built in obsolescence, I say.???)

Anyway, the only replacement I could find in the shop was a combined scanner, printer, and photocopier - cheaper than the repairs were going to cost.

And all this talk of recycling - what bin do you put shredded CD's and credit cards in?

My wife used to tour womens' groups in Buchan showing the slides along with a talk about them but eventually got overwhelmed with requests to show the slides.

However I find it impossible to scan them on either machine????

She "sorts out the photos regularly - which gives way to "Do you remember, etc,etc?" "We should have never have left that place and the next place etc.etc"

But will she really sort them into indexable groups - never on yer Nellie?

Not on your life.

I see specialised scanners advertised for slides. transparencies, strip film, etc but they are bit on the expensive side for me.
