I saw this movie when it came out. The main thing that struck me in it was the fact these men loved eachother and because of the pressure of society at that time , they felt they had to marry women and lead a heterosexual life. This is a tragedy to me. They ruined innocent women's lives. The marriages were shams.

I have seen this movie and yes, I do think the homosexuality got all the hype. If it had been two women there probably wouldn't have been as much fuss. But because it was two men and two well-known actors to boot it was blown up out of all proportion. It was a beautiful film with excellent music throughout and tastefully and sensitively done. All the cast deserved oscars!
