charles_r51 wrote: you are missing the point. intolerance in any form is a problem. religious intolerance has been nearly eliminated among all religions except among muslim. they choose to deny anyone the right to an opinion, just because they don't like it and will require that person be killed to prevent that opinion from being spoken out loud and promising to reward the murderer with glorious heavenly rewards for murder. there is no social or religious belief system which makes murder something to be rewarded except islam. they claim to be a peace-loving and gentle religion but are really just a group of murderous animals. the worst part is the fatwa, or religious decree, which can be utterred and enforced by anyone regardless of who it hurts. the muslim world lacks any morality at all and has absolutely nothing good to offer anyone, not even to themselves.:-4 :-4 :D
Kind of like the papal bulls issued by the pope when britian went protestant.?

Or the Pope's setting up of the Inquisition to root out the heretics who dared think for themselves.

Or even his declaring the Knights Templar heretic because he owed them too much money (well, if you have the power to issue a fatwa then why not use it?).

Adam Zapple wrote: Ted Kaczynski wasn't Muslim either, he was an environmentalist. Instances of intolerance can be found everywhere, but violence is taught in some muslim sects at an early age as a way to paradise. Some mosques and clerics recruit terrorists. That's the difference.

christianity in the middle ages was not that much different. intolerance is still intolerance regardless of who, or what the reason, is the justifiable cause for it. today it';s the muslims, seventy years ago it was the nazis, in the 1800's it was the the whites against blacks and indians. tomorrow it may be the koreans against the rest of the world. perhaps in the future, things will stop being so anti-this or anti-those. at least let's hope for something better.:-4 :-4:D

religion isn't the only cause of terrorism, it's just the most common. but teaching hate and intolerance in schools at such a young age is not that common, though it was done in germany during the thirties and in japan from the twenties, except it wasn't for religious purposes in japan, while it was in germany and is now in the middle east. :-4 :-4 :D

Your post implied that Islam was the only faith to use murder to its own ends :-

When presented with three examples of this happening you calmly ignore it and move on to a different subject.

This is not discussion it's proletyzing. If you want to make your point then do so but don't just foul mouth an entire culture.

it wasn't meant that way, but islam is the most prevalent at this time, though some acts they commit are also done in other cultures and religions, but not to the same level as is current in the middle east.:-4 :-4 :D

"Surrender"....a short film by Theo Van Gogh

I suggest you devote some quiet time to hearing the message. It's powerful.

If I had lived under a dictator like Saddam, I wouldn't be inclined to fight for my country if it had been invaded. It doesn't seem to be the Iraqis at large who are fighting us, but those so-called insurgents who originate from other Middle Eastern countries.

These events happened many centuries ago. Can you think of any such current happenings by Christian churches at large?

the pope didn't do much to stop the slaughter of millions in the fprties, and even helped many of those responsible to escape justice altogether, as did all the allied nations for purposes of "intelligence gathering". and what of the baking industry? how many billions in jewish wealth disappeared in the swiss and other nation's banks, not to mention the hundreds of millions in art that found it's way intpo museums from known sources which were looted by both the allies and nazis? there is no excuse for anything that hasn't happened, which isn't happening now in one way or another. all we can expect from any group which acquieses or propagates hatrred in any form is excuses, but no prevention.:-4 :-4 :D
