Making things easy for cyber stalkers

Post by LottomagicZ4941 »

Just did a search on my user name and was surprized to find a depression forum I only visited once or twice came up as #1. Guess that board is doing more promotion to get a higher search engine rank.

Perhaps I should make more of an effort to remain incognito. But even if you try to be incognito people can track your ISP number. But sometimes the best place to hide is out in the open. I use to use my real name online as my screen name and people would ask me what my real name was. And numerous people warned me not to use my real name.

Too many people to track. Too many trails. What you worry about is your credit card information and social security numbers getting stolen through vendors....like:

T-Mobile or Verizon, or a couple of the smaller banks online.

But Lotto, you're right! The Internet trail can be vast and deep.

Oh boy I could tell you all kinds of things about cyber stalkers. It is insanely simple to be stalked.

I hadn't realised we left such a trail. I feel violated in some way, just not sure how.

Well we have likely all heard the warnings about the internet, it is a kind of "enter at your own risk" thing.

What you find on the net about yourself when you google your name may only be a matter of just places you post so what have you got to hide if it is merely a post. You gotta worry when it becomes more than that, like an actual privacy invasion, or someone besmirtching your person etc. That is when you should feel violated.

Personally i have nothing to worry about and i'm too ordinary for someone to want to impersonate me. I was just surprised at how easily this information could be had. I'm not as clued up as some.
