This is probably not one that American posters will understand, but a very popular British motoring journalist was badly injured yesterday while attempting a speed stunt in a jet powered car for BBC 2's Top Gear programme yesterday. I do hope that he recovers as he seems a very funny and personable sort of bloke. Get well soon Mr. Hammond.

Some people push the envelope, I'm sure he wouldn't have missed the things he's done on that program for anything. He sounds like he'll get back from it, too. The whole program has been an outrageous mix of fun, games and facts since it started, they did a good job with it.

I'm keeping everything crossed, my thoughts are with him and his family. He's great on Top Gear and Brainiac.

Do you suppose now, that the good old Health and Safety might restrict the Top Gear team to 30 mph when testing the latest Bugatti Veyron ?

I always find him very entertaining so I hope he makes his way back to our screens

Fit and well, it would seem, with eight lives still intact.
"I was driving and then it was two weeks later and I was in Leeds" is his best line in the interview. I'd hate to have that happen.

It's famous for being medieval and for the invention of the disco, if I remember right. Other than that it's the gateway to hell, populated by demonic forces and instantly lethal to all who see it.
