You're tired, Honeybun! Get rested and see how you feel tomorrow. Ever tried yoga? Sometimes it's almost impossible to turn off our minds...

Portia, that sounds like me. :)

I remember, when this would happen, I'd get on the computer and guess who would *always* be there to chat with me?

Baby Rider :-4

We would have the best conversations in the middle of the night.

I miss them :-1

And look forward to doing it again with my friend :)

I find it hard to sleep at night too Pinky, so I usually keep a crossword puzzle or book of poetry beside the bed as they both send me to sleep! ;)

Alternatively, you could find a fabulous bed that lets you just drift away in it . . . . .

(I was going to say - "or a HOT man" but I guess Si wouldn't be too happy with that! Lol! :wah:

So here's the bed instead! :D

I'm sitting here with a huge mug of chamomile tea with about four teabags in it in the hope it will knock me out.

That won't do. You need a good stiff one to send you off. See the "hot toddy"

thread, or search for it.

What you need, Pinkster, is a two mile walk in the cold night air and then a hot bath with lots of bubbles in it. Someone to scrub your back is an optional extra.

Too much to do though!

Pinks :)

What's been on your mind that is keeping you awake?

If you share that with us, maybe we can help you deal with it.

We love you, babe :-4

Here's something which often works for me.

(I've never tried to WRITE it down before...:wah: )

Lie in bed, comfortably, and get in a position where you can take your pulse.

Inhale during four beats.....hold for two....exhale during five...hold for another two or three...whatever's comfortable.

Do that for awhile....and you'll notice your heart rate will slow a little.

Extend the inhalations to five beats....

See what happens.

Hey..it's free and it works for some people. I've used that to calm myself before surgery and before a root canal. You can do it anywhere.

Here's another idea, Pinks. Have you considered meditation?

Our friend, Healthandharmony, has been teaching meditation for many years....she'd help you.

Give the breathing/pulse thing a try, Pinks & let me know if it helps you focus on something other than what's in your head! I hope so...

Pinks get a boring book.... ooo wait you have a SO right dam this may not work, was going to say keep in your bed use as little light as possible and read a bit that ought to put you right back to sleep but would the light wake up your SO?? I find if you stay in bed, keep the light low and read a bit your body can kind of re-capture the sleep thread and fall back asleep. It works every time for me at any hour of the night and as little light as possible so it's not startling your sleep cycle.

Another thing how about a white noise machine? Something that flows evenly throughout the nite, trickling water, wind, or a calming shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this tends to block out heavy brain activity.

Other wise get out of bed and go write down what your brain is saying onto a piece of paper and put it by your keys and take it with you to work the next day and deal with those bits. It is easy to trick your brain into thinking you will deal with those bits tomorrow if you remove them from the brain onto paper. Then go back to bed. Don't get on the computer that just jump starts the brain.
