Sudden rash of dead stingrays considered revenge?

The Aussie govt. is concerned a sudden rash of dead stingrays being found washed up on the beaches is revenge killings. They say there are more than usual.

Aparently some are not uncommon..if they get caught in fishermen's nets and all...but many have had thier stingers cut off.

I guess Steve's message was lost on these people. This angers me. It's so cruel and ignorant!

This is so sad, l agree with you glitter. Steve Irwin would never have condoned this type of behaviour, his message is as you say lost on peope who would do this kind of barbaric act.:-5

i think Steve's purpose and reasons for bein' around them was lost. no true fan of steve is gonna have'a good reason for bein so cruel and i dont doubt that's what happened

ya could have a point and its pretty possible reporters could do it. i hope its what happened but dont doubt it either way

I certainly hope that's not the case... it's cowardly and pathetic... how senseless it would be to do this horrendous act to these creatures. I do know how the press is, though... they actually revel in this sort of stuff... either way, it's pathetic and sad. :(

I heard on the news yesterday that the PM got up and addressed the folks and pleaded with them that they were not respecting his memory by doing this, and to please stop.
