star trek dates

Post by gmc »

Just out of curiosity does anyone understand the star dates in star trek. It's bad enough making sense of the way americans write the date as it is but at least I can work it out. Star trek eludes me.

As of this beautiful date of September 5th, 2004 or more commonly referred to as: 09/05/04 :yahoo_win

The Star Dates subject is pretty complicated. Here is a great link that discusses the theory, background, and modifications:

I like Gene Roddenberry's attitude, just don't worry about. You can take it too seriously. My favourite one is people complaining abot the likes of star wars being unrealistic because in space you would not hear the space ships. I always find myself explaining as if to an idiot that it is not meant to be real in the first place.
