I dream of sleep
A restful night
My mind at ease
An end in sight.
I sleep in dreams
Of days to come
For days that passed
Have left me numb.
And in this slumber
Lights a spark
Of how my life
Has left its mark.
As shadows fade
So does the pain
Each passing day
A cleansing rain.
Then dreams and sleep
Lose their appeal
As I learn to love
That which is real.

I love your style and your way with the images that you create with your lines.

Sleep rests the body while dreams keep the faculties active when all systems rest. Time on the other hand, not only teaches us to love but heals us of all pains. While sleep and dreams refresh the body and mind, love goes beyond that by refreshing the soul. Love remains the greatest affection ever to be felt by humans as we grope through time and space, in the dark alleyways of being, searching for the truth regarding who we really are and our mission in the universe. Nice one Koan.

A formula for tact: "Be brief politely, be aggressive smilingly, be emphatic pleasantly, be positive diplomatically, be right graciously".
The Waking Dream
lovely and evocative as always Koan! "to sleep, perchance to dream"
