I've moved....

Post by Bez »

....well nearly....this is my last night in 'this ol' house'. Been here 24 years, but I know my son will look after it and have fun bringing up his family here. It'll be strange coming here for 'visits' .

The flat I'm renting is quite nice and spacious. It has been re-furbished and smells all new and fresh. I am excited yet apprehensive about being on my own, but it's a new chapter in my 'book of life' and I know I have you guys to kick my butt if i get sorry for myself.

All the boxes and small stuff were moved today, and tomorrow we are moving the larger furniture.....I then have a couple of days to get it all in order before I go back to work on Wednesday.

I need to buy a cooker and a fridge freezer and later on, a small dining room table and chairs.

So folks....from tomorrow morning I'll be offline until the phone/broadband gets connected on Monday.

You guys be good :D and have a wonderful weekend....don't know how I'll survive without you for 3 days....:-4

Bez,

I think that's so lovely that you've sold your house to your son. :-4

It seems such a shame to me when people live in a house for years and years and then move and never see it again. There are SO many memories and it's hard to see strangers in your beloved old home. But you get to see new memories being made AND you get a lovely new home of your own too. That's wonderful. :-6

I hope your move goes easily and that you are very happy in your new home. :)

Please could you pm me your address as I'd love to send you a 'good luck in your new home' card.

Thanks sweetie. :yh_hugs

Wow, best wishes & good luck in your new home Bez! Nothing stays the same forever, except "change" itself! You'll do just fine on your own, & like you said, you'll still be able to get to visit the old house. But be prepared, just in case your son & his family make some changes to the house to suit their taste/needs. :)

HI folks....I'm back.....but only via work !!!!

The phone line in the new flat is out of order  and the engineers are dealing with it at the end of the week...hopefully will be OK for the weekend and I can catch up with all the 'goings on' here. :)

I've really missed you all but my time has been spent settling in.....I absolutely LOVE IT. I feel LIBERATED.

The flat is bright and clean having been re-decorated with new carpets and a new bathroom suite...I've met one or 2 neighbours and they seem OK.

Must dash guys....many, many thanks for all the good wishes....back in my lunch hour :-6

Still NO BROADBAND FOLKS....:-5

I've been on to them again today and no satisfactory answers...

Anyway I'm trying to catch up here at work in my lunch hour.....missed you guys over the weekend. Luckily I had plenty to occupy me. Went to a family christening yesterday and had a really nice day....the driving was tiring though....2 hours each way !

Will be busy in the evenings this week as we should be 'Completing' on the house on Thursday. I need to make sure everything is 'ship shape' by then.

Oh I must have missed this news. I had been wondering where you had been the last week or two, and this explains it. Sorry to hear about the broadband problem, I know how you feel, we lost our broadband for about a month until something was done about it, so I feel for you!

Glad to hear that the move has been a success though Bez!! :)

Which ISP are you with - I'll make a note to steer clear of them.

Don't get too immersed in RL - we need you to come back into the Garden to stop our withdrawal symptoms :)

How's the flat coming along? Have you made it home-sweet-home yet?

I'm with BT Bryn....the problem started last Monday when I was supposed to be connected with a new account & number at the new address. The line was dead and when reported there was a fault on the external line. That got repaired on Thursday but Broadband didn't work. I've had several different explanations and they told me Thursday for service again....however...I'm on tonight, but it keeps cutting out every 5 mins :-5

RL consists of cleaning the old house ready for the new occupants .... my son and family....hopefully, completion on Thursday.

The new abode felt like home from day 1. I'm very happy here. I's a fresh start and it's started really well.

Morning Chonsi and Betty !

It's 6.40am here and we've just had a thunderstorm so the air is really fresh.

The broadband connection goes off every 2 minutes which is a pain ...I just keep re-connecting.

Hamster, Theia....Hi ladies....thanks for your good wishes.

I feel so comfortable in my new home and so happy with the 'life change'. Obviously the 'time was right'...it took me years come to the decision, but I know it was the right thing to do.

If any flats come up for sale in the same development, I'll definitely look at buying....might even make the landlord an offer on the flat I'm in but I guess he makes more money renting than selling.

:)
