MythBusters
The Coke and Menthos thread got me thinking of the show on the Discovery Channel called MythBusters. The guys take urban myths, or stunts seen on TV to see of they could happen in reality. They usually do one per episode. Rick and I wantch it now and again for amusement.
MythBusters
I also watch Mythbusters. They come up with the best urban myths! I liked their old format better, a couple of years ago. It was just the two guys doing the 'busting'. I think they drag it out a little too much with all the other helpers, now. But it is still a good watch...better than most of what is on regular t.v., and i still get a laugh now and then. I'm amazed how two grown men can get such a kick out of blowing something up or otherwise completely destroying a good car, or plane or whatever.

Ha, Ha Libertine..we watch it for the same reason. Not sure if it was a repeat, but we watch an episode a few weeks back where they made some sort of bomb, and were testing its explosive powers. I think it was one supposedly used during the Civil War, and they were checking to see if one could actually be made using the materials they would have had available back then. Do you know the episode I mean??

I don't recall that one, I did enjoy the one where they tried to make a cannon from a tree.
I love this show we watch as often as we can. Loved when they proved a tissue box in the back window of your car may bruise you but certainly won't kill you hehehehe

Poor Buster. How about the one when he dropped all those floors in the elevator! I remember the Civil Wa explosive one. They also did a very interesting one last year about how far under water a bullet would go..trying to prove if you are safe diving away from a gunshot. Also the chicken through the plane windshield!
Every once in awhile they perform a service by proving or disproving some wide spread myth.
But mostly they blow things up:wah:

I love that show. Hubby and I watch it when we can catch it on. My fave was the one where they used all the mirrors to pinpoint light to start a fire.

I love Mythbusters. I love the one where they proved that explosives isn't the best way to clean a cement truck but if you use enough there won't be any truck left to clean. That, and 2 miles isn't far enough to stand away from an exploding cement truck.

Yeah, Adam can be a bit much sometimes. Some episodes are like watching The Mr. Wizard And Timmy Show.
