I wonder if you can have the scent glands removed? i know you can have musk glands removed from ferrets and de-funkify them. Hmmm............ I have to look this up

Ok, you can have a skunk as a pet in any state except Kansas. They live to be about 20 years old, but there is no approved rabies vacc for them (in the stats, Canada has one, I believe).

Doc says that there are brown and white skunks. And lavender skunks (can you imagine). He also said they are kind of funny and probably as good a pet as a ferret.

Who knew?

I knew they made good pets, but I don't think I'd want an animal around

that couldn't have a rabies shot... pretty dangerous.

I knew about the brown and whites but NOT the "lavender" ones!! How

funny imagine calling a skunk "lavender"!! :wah: (Thinking it's that sort

of grayish like a Siamese lilac point?)

yes! it was a gentle baby and liked it's tummy rubbed....awww! :-4 ....I so wanted one!!
