Have the newest threats changed your mind about flying?

Just wondering if the latest terror threats, and increased security changed your mind about flying?

For me I would say no...but not in the way you think. I have always been a white knuckle flier and had decided long ago that barring some emergency that requires me to get from here to there FAST, I probably won't ever fly again.

I don't think my oldest son will come visit me because of it, he was coming for Thanksgiving............................

Well I'm flying to Bodo in Norway, via Amsterdam and Oslo a week on Saturday.

KLM cancelled one of my flights this morning so I've had the hassle of juggling flights about. I'll now have to wait in Oslo for 9 hours on the way back. I booked the 3 flights each way 2 days before the threat was known. I probably would have given it a miss for a while if I'd been aware of it. I'm flying away with my daughter in October. Just hope things have settled by then.

No, not at all. I've disliked it all my life, but that hasn't stopped me from crossing the broad Atlantic fifteen times. Until they build a trans-Atlantic railroad line, I guess I'll keep doing so.

Marie, I'm with you on this, I had a VERY bad experience flying about 10 years ago and have vowed that unless it's a very strong reason I will never get on a plane again.

I have no problem flying.

I'm probably going to Florida again in November and the Bahamas in February.

I'm with you, Cher. If we stop...they win! I'm confident we'll get over this latest nonsense soon enough and will at least be able to take moisturizer and eye drops! (It took over 30 hours to get to Borneo...and I'd never've made it without moisturizer & eye drops!)

Try Harry Harrison's "A Transatlantic Tunnel Hurrah" for the plans of how to build one.

I was thinking, though, more of something built on pontoons, like Seattle's floating bridges.
