Do You Believe In Life After Death?
Its lifes biggest mystery isnt it ?
Some years ago I was in a big warehouse by myself doing some work. I had the radio on and I was wondering about the lyrics, they seemed to be infering to God, but they were vague. As I wondered if the writer of the lyrics was actually speaking about God I was hit with something resembling a lightning bolt. Not literally but the sensation was extremely powerful and not unpleasant. It was as if every cell in my body had been awakened and I was aware of each of them individually. That still happens to me frequently when Im "connected" I call it my nudge from above. That instance was the beginning of my spiritual journey. It cant be denied.

Has anyone seen the movie Made in Heaven? It was released back in the 80's and starred Timothy Hutton and Kelly McGillis. he plays a young man who dies and goes to heaven. Among the people he meets is Kelly McGillis...a soul who has always lived in heaven, and has never been to earth. They fall in love, and "marry". Then she gets her "walking papers' and has to go to earth. Timothy wants to follow her, and the guy in charge allows him to go back as a baby boy. He is give 20 years to find her...if he does not find her in 30, they will never meet.
Aparently many of the souls he has met, have come back.
I like the concept of a place we go to when we die, to live out eternity. I am not sure I would really want to come back. And I am not exactly sure we do. But then, I have often gotten a strange feeling I have met someone before, when we have not, or the whole deja vu thing. It is hard to explain.

It was as I was becoming more confident in my psychic abilities that I kept noticing pictures of female Egyptians. I guess I can only say I knew that it wasn't me but something from the spirit world letting me know something. It wasn't until I decided to buy a jigsaw (as it is one of my favourite hobbies when the weather is cold) that I noticed it was again of a female Egyptian, but also that it was my Egyptian guide. The picture is an uncanny likeness of her and although I don't communicate with her as much now, I did communicate with her while doing my psychic training. If you want to know more, feel free to ask.
Yes, I'd love to know more detail about your psychic training and various other experiences you may have had.

Do You Believe In Life After Death?
I believe, er- "know" unequivocally in spirit transcending death. To me there is no death. I have had experience with a ghost (felt and heard but not seen) and there have been many signs of communication and acknowledgement from my loved ones. I just lost my mother this June 4th which is a personal hell for me. We had a deal that she would let me know when she got "there" and send me a sign. She did, first through my computer ,which is a common way of contacting someone according to psychics, and there have been several signs since. Recently I found a baby cottontail in my kitchen and I have reason to believe that was a hello from her. I have so many reasons to believe. It doesn't mean my faith in forever life keeps death from hurting me or keeps me from the heartwrenching missing of my mom and loved ones but it does make it a *little* easier "knowing" we'll be reunited. Great question, Helefra.

Do You Believe In Life After Death?
Helefra, I'm particularly fascinated in other people's journeys and experiences. I don't know much about psychic training but would gladly read through pages finding out more...so, anything will be of interest
I once had a very vivid dream of an ex boyfriend of my daughter's who had died suddenly and of an aunt who had killed herself. Both seemed very "meaningful" but these sort of dreams happen rarely for me. I don't think that intuition is one of my dominant traits.

Do You Believe In Life After Death?
While the mystical & unexplained fascinates me, personally I do not believe in life after death. I think what is left is our legacy & the memories the living have of us.
Do You Believe In Life After Death?
I must admit I tend to be a skeptic on all such ideas, however, what I would say is that no matter what you believe, we will all find out sooner or later. I hope its not a dissapointment. I also would ask the old retort, "is there life before death?".

You had an Epiphany, a moment of total clarity. First described by James Joyce. :-6
I believe your soul moves on when you die. You have to ask, What is the difference between a live body and a dead body? And the only difference is the power, the electricity, the life within that body. But power or electricity doesn't just disappear, it transforms into something else.
They say your weight, at the moment of death, decreases by 21 grams. This is supposed to be the weight of your soul as it leaves your body. So yes, I believe your soul moves on. As Peter Pan says: Dying is a truly great adventure.

I guess it's not about the intuition but about you, how much are you aware of that which cannot be explained but that which you yourself know. I suppose the Egyptians call it the "Third Eye" or some may refer it to the "All Seeing Eye", the latter is probably what the Indians probably call it. I would call it my true self, the spirit, because that is who and what I am. The only reason why some people in life give up on a spiritual aspect is because of possessions and that of monetary value. It is sad but then again if you look at the world around you, everything advertised is about selling and buying. Whilst we need money, food, clothing and a roof over our head to survive, sometimes some of us become obsessed with it so much that we forget about the important things in life. Advertisements work on a basis of "have" and "can't have". An example of this is that you see an advertisement for a new type of butter/margarine (which is a "have") and then you have an advertisement to rent a large apartment in the city centre and costs £100,000 a month (which is a "can't have") unless you can afford it.
I first got into spiritualism via my mum. My mum would visit a spiritualist church once a week in the evenings to enhance her psychic abilities. She would come home and talk about it with me and then eventually I decided to go along to the practical exercises. I remember where each of us had to choose a flower for ourselves and touch that flower. We would then place the flower back on a table and each of us would then pick up a different flower and attempt to connect with that flower which the other person had touched. Sometimes I would get emotions and other times I could notice something about the flower which meant something to that person. One incident of this was that the stem of the flower, to whom this belonged to, had two bumps on it. One bump was big and the other bump was small. I mentioned that this person was only seeking worldly possessions and something had happened to this person, that the person had been awakened by this and was taking care. This person was then revealed to me and told me I was spot on with the reading.
I had always wanted to develop my abilities and then went to a spiritualist college where I learned about colours, crystals, trance (which is something I wanted to do at the time) and the giving of messages whether by a drawing or touching objects which were passed to someone to interpret what message was there. The main aspect of all of psychic abilities is to undertake meditation before any practical exercises, this is so the mind can be quietened.
After developing from the psychic abilities, I was then able to progress to communicating with those that had passed on. As those who died cannot speak to the living, symbols are often revealed to us as a message to another person. These symbols are seen by what some may call the "Third Eye" or what I would say, a message being passed from those no longer living to the spiritual being which is you. I had passed many a message to others but I did not take my abilities seriously enough to progress with them and help others.
Yesterday I was walking through a shopping arcade and noticed a sign for a course which was to do with the performing arts. Perhaps this is a sign for me, I know that I would have liked to have done theatre but wouldn't be happy with TV or film. I'm still pondering on it now.
All I can say is that the signs are out there, you just have to be aware within yourself. It's like the phrase "Seek and ye shall find".
Thank you for that, Helefra...I especially liked what you wrote about the exercise with the flowers. I also liked the way you described everything, not in that sort of hyped up, over the top way that is often used when talking about psychic matters but in a rather gentle, lovely way. I gained a lot from reading it.

Many years ago I had gone to bed early,my wife stayed downstairs to watch the telly....................she crept up to bed quietly so as not to waken me and to her great surprise and shock she saw a man bending over me with a large black hat on, just like a quaker, it disappeared very quickly as she entered the room......she maintains it was my guide.

Another true story of our cat.................he went missing in the back fields and for weeks we searched and asked many people if they had had sight of him....all to no avail.......................a couple of months went bye, then one night whilst my wife and I were laid in bed we heard ,what sounded like something walking over an ottaman that we had at the bottom of the bed............it still had the celophane wrapping on the top because our cat loved to go on it............the footsteps we heard we are convinced was the cat returning,we dashed out of bed to put the light on and there was nothing there.............we still talk about it today it was very weird.

My dad told me of a friend he knew who had to travel to Liverpool on business. I don't know the person's name but we will call him Bob. Anyway, Bob had finished a meeting at a venue and he and some friends decided to go to a nearby drinking house (pub). Bob didn't have anything to drink that night because he had to drive back home the next day so his friends did the drinking. Anyway, Bob decided to leave his mates behind as time was getting on and he needed to be up early. Bob decided to take a short cut down a dark alley street as he wanted to make sure he could catch the last bus to his hotel. As soon as Bob walked down the dark alley it was as if he had stepped back in time, probably to the 1800s and during the time of extreme poverty. Bob saw everything as though it was happening now, all the people were real as you and I can see the sky and clouds. When Bob finally got to the end of the alley and came out the other side, he looked up the alley and everything was back to normal.
I still have a couple more stories but I will leave it with this one for now as I am going to log off soon and watch "Ghost Whisperer".
It seems a little like stepping into a parallel universe, doesn't it?

This has definatly been an interesting thread to read. I've always been interested in things such as ghosts, spirits and such. I've had some things happen to me which I can't explain away. Things such as a sinking feeling in my stomach when something bad is bout to happen. I would be interest in hearing more, and also knowing where I could find more information about such things.

I shared a house with my sister some years ago that I truly believe was haunted or possesed or something. At first there was just annoying things happening. like all of the kitchen cabinets standing open, or the kitchen light would always be on. You get up in the night and turn it out and in the morning it would be back on.
Then it got weirder, the radio in the kitchen would turn itself on. I had a friend over one night, we were watching a movie in the den, she said, your sister is awake. I said my sister isn't here. My friend swore she saw a woman in the hall. My cat also was sent flying across the kitchen, like someone had kicked him. After that he would not go near the kitchen, I had to feed him in my bed room.
Then my sister started having dreams. She saw bkack men in the house, not african american, black, like soot. There was a woman sitting at the kitchen table laughing. The black men were also throwing things out of the window. She talked about her dreams because they scared her.
We went out for her birthday one night we returned to find our house on fire! It was surreal. The firefighters coming out of the house were, black. The fire started in my bedroom, my bed was on fire, we watched in disbelief as the firemen threw my matress out of the window.
It makes my hair stand on end to this day. I wonder if the old witch is happy now, she got her kitchen back!

Their son did not know about the hauntings and the couple had moved from their previous address so the son was not aware of the nightly ongoings. Anyway, every night the couple went to bed, as soon as they settled down for the night they could hear crockery being thrown and smashing on the floor in the kitchen. The couple would never go downstairs to venture to find out what was causing it as they were too scared and always waited until daylight. Whenever they got up, the kitchen was always as they had left it the previous night and there was no sign of any crockery broken.
Well, one day the couple had a letter from their son telling them he was coming home for a few days holiday. The couple were so excited that they forgot about the haunting in the house. The son arrived and with all the excitement of his home coming, the couple forgot to tell their son about the goings on in the night.
It came to bedtime and everyone was exhausted after such an eventful day. As everyone settled down for the night, the haunting began with the sound of smashing of crockery. The son came out of his room and told the couple he was going down stairs to investigate. Despite the couple's begging not to go, he still went to investigate. The couple stayed upstairs too terrified to venture downstairs and they heard the smashing of crockery get louder and louder until eventually it stopped and there was complete silence.
The couple stayed upstairs until the morning and when they came downstairs they found their son lying on the kitchen floor dead. Every piece of crockery in the kitchen had been smashed on him and yet there was not one broken bone in his body!
That's crazy! Scary. I never heard of a ghost that actually killed someone. Oh, the Bell witch, but John Bell was poisoned. Scary.
