I meet the new principal tomorrow, oh that will be scarey. I do not know her, and my old students have already told me she is strict! :wah:

I shall let you know if she liked me, I am a little worried about it. I wrote her an e-mail and volunteered to come up to school a couple of days to help with the scheduling mess left from the last administration. She never wrote me back, I hope it was an oversight on her part. I am as bad as the kids, I'm going to see the principal!:wah:

As you all know, I have made mention in other posts that I did not want children.

Right now I am at the library..waiting for Rick to get off work so I can go get him. Well, up till a couple minutes ago, there was a very whiny child..with a serious case of the "I wants". I will have to say, at the risk of alienating myself among all the parents here, it was starting to get on my last nerve, and for a brief moment the thought ran through my head "Yep, now I remember why". oh well.

And yes, I still do like the little ones..just like being able to give them back, also.

During a recent private message with Arnold we commented about the sin of "procrastination".

My daughter once pointed to her TV set and said, "That is biggest time waster on earth."

Now I do believe her but how do you cure it.

Do you print a big notice and stick it on the screen and and state. "I WILL NOT WATCH TV" OR "I HATE WATCHING TV."????????

OR do you have to go and get a hypnotism course to make you stop it just like smoking????

AND DON'T YOU DARE SAY "JUST PULL THE PLUG OUT" - MY WIFE LOVES HER SOAP OPERAS.

She really does act as if they were real people. Not just actors.

I believe that TV is the greatest cause of "PROCRASTINATION" IN THE WORLD TODAY.

But actually, can't that be said for anything that is considered by others to be a "time waster"? Time on the internet, or doing anything except what needs to be done?

Yes, there are people who live vicariously through the lives of the characters on thier favorite television shows (and not just the soaps) but to be honest, I think that is a separate topic in and of itself, and may have little to do with someone being a procrastinator.

Hello randall....really nice to see you here.

If watching the soaps makes your wife happy then that seems OK with me.

I hardly ever watch TV....there's not much on to my taste...I'd rather be here catching up with the 'Garden Folks'.

I guess in the 'old days', we would be reading, knitting, sewing and making things....and going to bed early to save the heating etc.

I agree that TV is the biggest reason for procrastination....I bet there are statistics somewhere that could tell us how much time the average person spends in their arm chair getting 'square eyes'.
