Memoirs of a Geisha. Because I read the book.

It was AWESOME. I'd watch it over and over again.

It was hilarious.

King Kong was pretty cool, I loved the animation, but of course the ending is a downer and the length is absolutely brutal.

I bought "Running Scared" last night and MAN did it ever knock me back on my heels. forget "Kill Bill" this movie is WAY over the top. No spoilers, but it's one of those movies that you absolutely won't be able to guess the ending and it'll have you on the edge of your seat cheering or biting your nails all the way.

BTW...avoid if you don't like violence, yeah...it's violent. (But not gratuitously so, all the violence has a plot tie-in.) I think I'll compare it to the first time I saw "Goodfellahs" it's that good.

i don't buy DVD's anymore - netflix is the only way to go.

i'm on disk four of the late, lamented Firefly tv series. really terrific 'sci fi'. huge ensemble cast, and the chemistry is fantastic.

I believe it was Anchorman with Will Ferrell. I love Will Ferrell and his little clique... :wah: I think Ben Stiller is my fav. character in that movie though he's got a very short part... too funny... a little raunchy (sp.) at times... at least some have told me that...

Narnia-because I loved the story and movie.

My daughter works at a video outlet, I don't have to rent anything. She brings them home for me. But I usually only get movies for the kids at school, like that last few days. It makes me a popular teacher.....................:wah: And keeps them under control until vacation starts!

We have a DVR, so we almost exclusively record. We rent Pay Per View, or record off HBO, or the classic movie channels.

The last purchase I actually made of a pre-recorded DVD was a boxed set of the first season of the original series The Outer Limits, as a gift for Rick. He was always a fan of the show.

It is actually Rick's toy. He loves it. Lately he has recorded some of his favorite TV series...and when he gets 6 or 7 episodes, he edits out the comercials and puts them on Disc. He so far has several Discs of NCIS and others.

Young children pick it up fast!

When we had the Easter cantata, one lady signed the words to one of the songs. But her daughter sat in the front row, and did it better then her mom! Everyone was watching her the whole time! So, when we sang it the second time, I had the little girl come up to sign it, and it was beautiful.:)

The last DVD I purchased was Batman Begins because I had 10 kids around me begging me to buy it one weekend when they all stayed over one night. Hope to not have that happen again for a long while.

I took American Sign Language in college many years ago. I loved it! What was really special was that a deaf woman taught it. It was a great way to really learn to sign.

"High School Musical" because my kids are obsessed with this movie. I also had to buy the CD. Seems they couldn't have one without the other.

My 10-year-old niece is CRAZY about that movie. She once said to me, "Auntie, you know, it is destined to become a classic."

Is that great or what??!:-6

My step-grandson is working with a speech therapist as his speech is delayed a bit (they think it is because he was a foreign adoption and spent first 8 months just hearing Russian). Anyway, she combines speech and sign, and he is picking up both really well.

:) I'm trying to get most of my favourites for my hubby and I to watch again and again. We don't mind doing this.

I bought Tron for my hubby as he loves that film and I got Dark Angel with Dolph Lundgren. I have also got the Final Destination Trilogy set and in a sale I bought Vampires with James Woods, Wishmaster 2, Serenity and The Matrix Reloaded. I try and buy dvd's every so often to build up our collection.

:)
