BR, what is your favorite female fragrance? Male fragrance? (Other than Bullet's pure masculine personal scent, that is):)

Wow. I'm a bit late in getting around to this thread!!

Cher, my favorite scent for me is Hanae Mori. My favorite guy scent is Laagerfeld. Combine it with Bullet and it makes for seriously weak knees.

Mmmmm...not really into all that "pampering" stuff. I get my hair cut when I think of it, (which is about every year and a half), I don't get my nails done, I hate shopping....probably the closest I get to pampering is going to the tanning salon.

Actually, Cher, it's 3:20 here now. I believe we're in the same time zone, aren't we?

Work sucked. I hate our weekend band. They're called The Cadillac Cowboys, and they are so God-awful. The lead singer is practically deaf, so he turns his amp way up and what do we get all night? Feedback. Ear-splitting, nerve-shattering, teeth-aching feedback. I have re-named the band, "The Cadillac Feedback Cowboys" and have told them this to ALL their faces. Not to mention the fact that the lead singer is an arrogant bastard who thinks women are a sub-species. If I didn't have to work weekends, I never would just because of that heinous band. I actually make more money during the week, because there's only 1 bartender. Friday's and Saturday's there's 2 of us.

So...you asked!! :yh_bigsmi

Real glad to have the company, Cher. 'Specially you, you very quickly became one of my favorites. And I absolutely love that picture of you in your av. It is exactly how I pictured you from your writing.

Thanks for the nice words, BR. Right back at you:-6

I thought we were in the same time zone, but hubby told me Michigan is one hour behind us. (note to self: tell hubby he was wrong:) )

It must be *brutal* listening to that noise all night long. It's not music at that point, just noise.

I really want to know what's going on with the lawyer search. Do you feel comfortable sharing it here? If not, I'll pm you.

So many of us care, BR, and I know a lot of the Gardeners carry you and Bullet in our hearts. We want, really need, to be kept in the loop.

My shoulder is available anytime.

Anytime.

Dammit, don't go making me get all weepy, Cher. I did enough of that today. It was a bitch of a day. Just pretty much fell apart about 2 hours before work, panic attack, barfing my guts out, a crying jag that wouldn't quit....Just out of the freakin' blue. I've been keeping it together pretty well, but today, for some reason, it just all fell on me like a load of cement. I called my sister and my parents in a panic because I really thought something was wrong with me. Turns out, I'm just a big damn baby.

What do you want to know about the lawyer? I have no qualms at all talking about it in public. Any of it. I don't have any secrets about this situation. I still believe that Bullet did the right thing that night, and that he is NOT guilty of murder, and that the system let us down BIG TIME.

No, I have no problems talking about this in public at all.

That's the Baby Rider we know and love.

Tough days are a bitch. But if you didn't have 'em you wouldn't know what the good ones really are.

Criss, are things going to stay in limbo for awhile? What I mean is: what is the next thing that will happen in this process of freeing Bullet? My guess is that this is going to take time, right?

I'm glad you're so open and honest about everything. I never 'met' Bullet but I truly believe in him and his innocence.

Hey

I call 'em like I see 'em.

Like with you, with me it's what you see is what you get.

And by the way, did I ever tell you how handsome I think your hubby is? He has a strong, masculine look. No wonder he makes you weak in the knees:-4

Ahh...so you've seen pictures, too? Make sure, if you have the inkling, to check out a thread I started a while back titled "Some eye candy for the ladies" It has one of my most favorite pictures of him in it.

Yes, this appeal will take time and money. I have both coming in to make the fight possible. The next step is waiting for the transcripts of the actual trial to be prepared and sent to the appeal attorney. Do you believe that you have to BUY the transcripts? And for a 3 1/2 day trial, there's $2,000 worth of pages. That about knocked me off my chair when I heard that.

Once the lawyer has the transcripts, he goes over them with a fine tooth comb, looking for errors in the prosecutions presentation, our lawyer's handling of the case, and the judges instructions to the jury. We also have to think of every minor detail that is not in the written records. Such as a conversation I overheard in the hallway during a break between the head investigator on the case and the prosecutor. Neither of them believed they had a chance at winning. The fact that the judge went so far over the sentencing guidelines is probably a good thing for us, because it's cruel and unusual especially for a man with ZERO record of any kind, a family man, a great job, (he was a line supervisor at GM) and carrying legally.

Then the appeal lawyer presents his case to the appelate court, asking for certain things. And he's going to ask for them ALL. We want a re-trial. If we can't get that, we want him re-sentenced to a lesser charge like involuntary manslaughter which carries about a 19 month sentence. Still unacceptable to me, because he is innocent, but better than 17 years. Regardless, he will be in prison for a year just because of all the beuracratic red-tape bullshit that has to be waded through. What we are pinning a lot of our hopes on is that the appelate court judges, (it's a panel of 3) will look at this case and see it as absurd as we do, and give him time served.

I will NOT accept him sitting in prison for 17 years for defending himself. There are holes in this case that you could drive a bulldozer through. There is so much reasonable doubt, it was palpable. It boggles my brain whenever I think about it. My kind, sweet, gentle, loving husband sitting in lockdown 23 hours a day for shooting a proven crack dealer that was shooting at him. I still can't wrap my brain around it.

It's good for me to talk about this out loud, with lots of people able to read about it. Who knows....I may get some insight that I haven't thought of! I'm taking all the help I can get in this, even if it's just ideas from people. I don't intend to leave any stone unturned. Any resource available to me I will take advantage of. And I've got a very large group of very smart friends in here that I expect will have a lot to say about this.

Hi truscorp and welcome to Forum Garden. Some lowlife smashed into our BabyRider and put her in hospital where she's slowly healing. There are threads about this. She is very much loved here - and respected too. Man, can she kick a$$, when kicking is needed. Anyway, she'll be back soon. Watch this space.. grin.

She was indeed riding! The lowlife was allegedly drunk and went through a give way sign or something. I forget the details. He's been charged. BR is lucky to be alive. She's got a long way to go yet, but then she's one feisty woman and is making an amazing recovery.. (Gotta run - it's my 9am and work calls, catch you later!)

BR's Mum Asked Me to Do This
