You would think they'd realize a lab in thier car wasn't a good idea, considering some of the ingredents for meth are highly flammable. :rolleyes:

Two men are undergoing treatment for second-degree burns after Pampa police say a "rolling" meth laboratory exploded in their car Sunday.

Joshua Lloyd Mullen, 21, of Odessa and 22-year-old Schuyler Bond Danner of Pampa, drove themselves to the Pampa Regional Medical Center on Sunday in the same 1997 Toyota four-door that exploded, according to the Pampa Police Department.

The two were flown to the University Medical Center Burn Unit in Lubbock where Mullen was listed in serious but stable condition Monday and Danner was listed in critical condition.

Doctors at the Pampa hospital called police about 2 p.m. Sunday when two men they were treating for burns became belligerent, police said.

An officer interviewed the men, then found that the car had been sprayed with a caustic chemical during the explosion, which originated in the car's front passenger's seat, Pampa Police Lt. Fred Courtney said.

The two men denied to the officer they had been cooking methamphetamine. Pampa police meth investigators scanned the vehicle and found residue from a "previous cook," Courtney said.

No charges have been filed, he said.

It was unclear to authorities Monday exactly where the blast happened.

Gray County sheriff's deputies fanned across a 50-mile area Monday searching for other victims and a possible location of the blast.

"Rolling" labs are common, low-tech ways to produce meth, Courtney said.

"It's not Dr. Frankenstein's laboratory. We're talking about making it in a five-gallon bucket or a two-quart Mason jar," he said. "It's nothing anywhere near like you would associate a lab with
