Little babies or adult babies? ;)
When choosing between two evils, I always like to take the one I've never tried before.

Just dusting the cobwebs off this thread to tell you all that today, I paid a holding fee on a small flat (apartment) not too far away from where I currently live. I will rent for 6 months and then look at buying somewhere small....even 'old codgers' like me can get mortgages these days ! :D

I won't bore you with the whole story, but my other half and i are separating after 40 years of marriage and I'm beginning a whole new adventure...on my own.

My son is trying to buy our house as it is ideal for a family ....6 of us used to live here...

I'm not sorry and I'm not sad, I'm just glad that AT LAST I've mustered up the courage to do what I should have done many years ago.

If I fall off the 'happy bus' while I'm on this journey, I might need a bit of a helping hand to get back on and I know there will always be someone here to give me a helping hand.

You wont fall. There will always be someone ready to catch you. To steady you when you stumble. To always be the friend you need them to be. Just remember life is an adventure. You have found your wings, dear friend. Soar! Breathe the free air. It is a fragrance beyond description. :-4 I'm only a phone call away.

I just realised today that this is the last week I will ever be working a full 5 days....yippee...

A few months ago, I told my boss that I would be retiring in October after 30 years of working for the company. He was a bit taken aback as i think he was expecting me to go on until i was 65.....and in all fairness that was what i planned to do. The decision to retire was part of the whole 'change my life' decision I made last year. (60 is the official retirement age for women here in the UK for the year I was born)

Anyway...to cut a long story short....we did a deal.

He told me I could work a 4 day week during August and September with no loss of pay, provided i would be flexible and cover for holidays etc if needed....and ...he asked me to work reduced hours for a few months while the company is going through some changes.

So October to December I work 3 days a week....January to July 2007 I work a 2 Day week and then we will review the arrangement. I'll get paid in proportion to the hours i work and I must say the money will be really handy, specially based on the salary I get now.....

So....many LONG weekends to look forward to and more to celebrate....how about a 'beach party'....yay....

:) :D :yh_bigsmi :yh_laugh

Bez - the pictures of Nymans Gardens looks beautiful. Can you give me details of where it is? I love visiting those type of places.:)

It's in Sussex, not far from Gatwick airport...a long way from Birmingham but well worth a visit if you're ever down this way.
